  1. Are you watching/listening to more or less Twins games compared to recent seasons? Why has it changed?
  2. Thanks for putting the effort in @Teflon! This topic has interested me and it deserved a deep dive like you did.
  3. Concur with several people here. Lewis is the clear choice to take over CF if Buxton is unable to play in the field moving forward.
  4. It’s possible that they will. Every team can make the argument to trade away their veteran players, play prospects, and still find their way to a division title with 82 wins.
  5. Concur. I don’t know who is potentially available for trade in July, but I’ve got to imagine Sonny Gray will be a top candidate to acquire. I think he could fetch a big return.
  6. If they moved forward with this plan, it opens up 2 spots in the bullpen, and playing time opportunities at RF, LF, and 1B. The playing time in the field can be covered by Larnach, Wallner, and Miranda. We need to know with more confidence if Larnach or Wallner can be an every day corner OF in 2024. In the bullpen, I heard there was a pitching pipeline at one time.
  7. July 31st is right around the corner, and as things stand so far, the 2023 Twins isn’t very good. Barring a multiple week win streak, my mind is pretty set on what to do at the trade deadline… I want to be sellers and give playing time to the players who will be here in 2024+. With that being said… DFA by July 31: Pagan and Kepler. This is nothing new and discussed on many threads. They need to go. Trade by July 31: Sonny Gray - I am open to a short term extension of 2, maybe 3 additional years. If he is looking for his last contract that pays him through his late 30s it ain’t going to happen here. Sell high on a career year at 33 years old. Joey Gallo - If he has any value, trade him away. He may be closer to the DFA category. Caleb Thielbar - He’s been a great story the last couple of years. 36 years old with 1 arbitration season left. He’ll have value on the trade market. Explore trading, but it would need to be a strong offer to execute: Jorge Polanco - The Twins don’t appear to have too many visible leaders in the clubhouse. Polanco is one of them.
  8. If the season continues to swirl down the drain like it has since May, we may be talking about a new FO this winter.
  9. That week old Papa John’s in your fridge did the trick! You thought your wife threw it out…
  10. Ironic that you would recommend eating beef. What if him and his son are in the mood for rally goat?
  11. If you want a Hollywood type experience, go to Manny’s Steakhouse and ask to sit at @Melissa Berman’s table.
  12. There are lots of restaurants offering a wide variety of experiences. If you’re into a primal “hunting and gathering” dining experience, I recommend going to @wsnydeshouse and stealing things out of his fridge before he notices.
  13. This team screams mediocrity. I just saw this season play out for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Surprisingly playing okay against the top teams, and falling flat on their face against the bad teams.
  14. I’m enjoying the fruits of my labor so far with romaine lettuce and radishes! The peas aren’t really producing so I have a decision to make… It’s looking like in the next week or two I’ll be enjoying the first garden tomatoes of the year!
  15. Yeah, I don’t care how we stack up in the AL Central. I would go ahead with selling, and if we win the division with 83 wins that’s a bonus. The Twins don’t stack up well against the projected playoff teams.
  16. That is a good point about the playoff revenue. If Diamond Sports doesn’t pay the TV contract this year, they may need to make short term decisions to capture the lost revenue. I agree on your thinking they will trade one of Kepler or Gallo, not both. We could get a solid return on Gallo if he heats up over the next 45 days. Polanco is the one on that list I have a difficult time parting with. I’d explore the option but likely hold on to him. From the 10,000 ft overview he appears to be one of the only clubhouse leaders on roster.
  17. If the Twins are still hovering around .500 in mid July, I would be actively selling to rebuild the farm system. Over the next 30-45 days Falvey needs to find out if Sonny Gray will accept a short extension. If not, sell high on his career best season. He is by far the best trade chip to realistically move. I would also explore trading away Gallo, Thielbar, Solano, and Polanco. I don’t believe Pagan, Kepler, or Maeda have trade value and more likely to be DFA candidates.
  18. I don’t know why this latest appearance would be the final straw for this FO to make a change. His Stuff+ on that 95 MPH middle middle pitch hit over the fence was probably incredible!
  19. How can they possibly take a further step back without trading our foundation of players 27 years old and younger? Harry is a declining player likely in his last year in the NFL. Isn’t that preferred to a younger player with a chance of getting better if the goal is to be bad?
  20. There’s 3.5 months left to change my opinion several more times. As things stand on June 12th, I do not believe in this team. I feel like a broken record at this point. There is not enough offense on the roster to give me confidence. Even if everyone was healthy, there isn’t enough offense.
  21. I don’t post nearly as much as I used to because it’s the same story in 50% of the games. The offense has given the team a minimal chance to win.
  22. Since the beginning of 2021 until today, the Twins are 182-205. 23 games under .500 during a period when they were trying to win immediately!
  23. You are correct Nick. There was a momentous opportunity to build a huge division lead, and it’s squandered away now. The White Sox practically begged to be put out of their misery after their horrid start in April. Now they are 3.5 games out of 1st. Imagine how they must be feeling to be in the mix after an 8-21 March/April. There is zero urgency to do anything different thanks to the division being so bad. Falvey and Rocco will keep on keeping on following the spreadsheet.
  24. The Twins just completed their 25th game scoring 2 runs or less. Their record in these games is 4-21. They have scored 3 runs or less in 32 out of 63 games. Their record is 7-25. Over 50% of the time the offense gives the team a minimal chance to win a baseball game.
