  1. All of the news outlets today have said we're getting strong thunderstorms tonight. I would have stayed home too. It's a swamp outside.
  2. Easier said than done, but they should have moved this game to the early afternoon. The thunderstorms are slated to begin at 7 tonight.
  3. Awesome review. Thanks for writing it! PNC Park is definitely on my bucket list of stadiums to attend. I hope MLB grandfathers this stadium in with Fenway and Wrigley Field so it lasts a lifetime. I can’t imagine a better constructed field with those sight lines in Pittsburgh.
  4. Tuesday looks like a washout with thunderstorms and 100% chance of rain. Wednesday is the only day this week to potentially do a double header. Thursday 70% chance of steady rain. It’s going to be dicey at best for the Rays series.
  5. Happy Father’s Day! Stay hydrated if you’re outside this afternoon. Gonna be a hot one.
  6. Yeah that is wild to call the game today. It’s barely sprinkling west of TF.
  7. They’ll get the game in. Supposed to be light drizzling the rest of the day. At least that’s what I’m telling myself as I’m 10 minutes from starting my golf round.
  8. Father Time is undefeated. Abreu’s MLB career is over.
  9. I’m with you and agree that’s a good estimate for his next contract. It’s a long shot just like it’s been the previous 2 offseasons he’s been available. He’s the guy I want in an ideal world.
  10. Probably if he continues to produce like 2023. Falvey won’t spend big money for a pitcher. That’s not bashing him, I agree with the logic. We won’t be in the running for Soto and I highly doubt Goldschmidt is going to be a real free agent. So Bellinger is the best option if he opts our.
  11. I wanted Bellinger last winter and I’ll want him again this winter. He’s the perfect CF/1B insurance for this roster.
  12. I agree. With the 1st playoff round set up as it is in a 3 game format any mediocre 85 ish team has a coin flip chance to win it. We may end up seeing very few players available and less blockbuster deals because .500 teams are convincing themselves why not us?
  13. A lot can change in the next 45 days, but IMO this is looking like a seller’s market. The league is so top heavy with 5 elite teams, 15-20 average at best teams, and 5 horrendous teams. Do the Twins have enough pitching to win a 7 game series against CLE, BAL, or NYY? Unless Lopez and Paddack make significant strides I’d argue no. Is our lineup deep enough to produce runs against October pitching? I’d also argue no as of today. That’s why I’m in alignment with @Chris Spencerto be sellers.
  14. I’m rooting for Pittsburgh to go for it this season. Given the state of pitching injuries in baseball, there is no guarantee they will have all 3 of Skenes, Jones, and Keller healthy and clicking in 2025+. A better question for this series is what prospect could we get from them for one of Kepler, Larnach, or Wallner? The Pirates need bats and they could make some noise in the playoffs with their pitching.
  15. It always sucks to witness it happening in real time. He’s 37 with a crazy MLB story. He’s left handed and breathing so maybe we can trade him for something in July. Falvine pulled off one miracle before when they traded JA Happ for a breathing person. Maybe it can happen again.
  16. Weather report from my place ~5 miles west of Target Field. It’s raining pretty hard now.
  17. I also said he should go up to every concession stand asking for a senior citizen discount
  18. My dad is at the game celebrating his 65th bday. I’m happy he’s seeing a good game (so far)
  19. Should be enough dry time in between storms to get the game in. Severe weather isn’t coming in until after 6 PM.
  20. This is off topic just to start a different conversation. Recently you replied back to me saying (my paraphrasing) you've never been more excited about the health of the organization. Help me out, because I do want to be positive. Not being able to watch them often has turned me into a box score guy and I don't pay close attention to the minors. Correa is obviously good, but he's not a superstar. Lewis I very much hope is the superstar because we are starving for one.
  21. I consider them an all in one package. I'm ready for a new direction this offseason with a clean sweep.
  22. Couldn’t agree more. I chuckle when I read articles claiming we’re one or two upgrades away at 1B/DH and LF from being a WS contender. If those upgrades are in their prime Albert Pujols and peak Manny Ramirez, sure we are WS contenders.
  23. If Lewis, Julien, Wallner, and Kepler didn’t go nuclear in the 2nd half of 2023, we would be talking about how bad the offense has been for 2+ years. This team is closer to a full rebuild than a WS appearance.
  24. IIRC his last wrist surgery was quite severe in order to save his baseball career. Maybe all of those procedures sapped his power and swing speed?
