    I’m still not overly optimistic about the team. They have dominated the cellar dwellers, mostly competitive against the mid tiers in the league, and got dominated by the elite teams. Pleasant surprises: - How competitive the AL Central is - Jose Miranda - SWR - Josh Staumont

    Onions and carrots are close to 3 feet tall now. Tons of tomatoes on the vine, decent sized jalapenos, and some bell peppers are just starting!

    That’s the goal. Seattle showed interest in him and Polanco last winter. Haniger has been dog doo doo for Seattle and they need quality bats to hold off Houston/Texas.

    Love it! We are shooting for upside over the status quo (Varland) and a journeyman that won’t have a future here (Boushley).

    Tampa will be sellers… That’s just what they do. And this is the weakest Rays team in quite some time. CWS should trade Luis Robert but they don’t have to - he’s under control for 3.5 years. I don’t see Texas or Houston selling because Seattle isn’t that good of a team.

    Wouldn’t be opposed to that. Some team is going to zig when everyone else zags and get a pretty sweet trade return. I’m hoping the Twins are the team that zigs.

    Kepler would easily be the best OF available on the market if we were to trade him. And frankly, I don’t think there will be much of a drop off in team performance if we do it.

    Just goes to show how difficult it is to maintain production in the current day MLB. He’s far from the first or last person to have a sophomore slump.

    Personally I see it as a great opportunity to give Festa an extended look for 3-4 weeks. Then if/when Paddack is ready to return, Festa can head back to St Paul with a game plan to work on the rest of the season.

    FWIW Hayes is thinking Festa gets the call.

    I would take the risk because I agree with you. Festa has the highest upside. I’m not too concerned about the 40 man spot. They can move Stewart to the 60 day IL, or DFA Josh Winder.

    This could be a good time to shut down Paddack until the AS break, giving him 4 weeks of rest. It’s also a good time to give David Festa a 3-4 start audition and see if they really need to add starting pitching in July.

    As others have said, I’m not pissed off at the MLB team. I’m pissed off at DSP and the Pohlads for the terrible TV situation. With attendance this low the next season after winning a playoff series, I’ve got to imagine DSP’s seat is hot. I don’t know whether the Twins are good or not good yet. Baseball is so top heavy with 5-6 elite teams, 20 “competitive” teams, and 5 awful teams.
