  1. I can't stand Trevor Plouffe, Sano is better with the cast on. I'm sorry Trevor, I really am.
  2. Worst part is that Arcia isn't even the worst defensive outfielder. Do you think Collabello would be better in the field than Willingham or would he be worse?
  3. Well..that's not good defense by Arcia. Thought it was right at him.
  4. Stupid answer is that the best pitchers pitch in the major leagues, not in the minor leagues. However, my answer is mostly a gut instinct. I think he will hit for a little bit of power, which isn't bad, but I don't think he will hit enough or play enough defense to to be the guy. Especially considering we are going to let him sit on the bench way to much this year to give him a chance to develop.
  5. New Career High in Games: 155 (146)* none of which at position of strain New Career High in Doubles: 50 (43) Ties Career High in Triples: 4 HR: 25 Audible to 79 XBH.
  6. Optimism went out the door when: 1) TR struck out after signing his 3 pitchers. (suzuki, kubel, bart don't excite) 2) Sano needed TJS
  7. So you agree with my other 12 predictions, well thank you! I think it's entirely possible Gardy is axed during season. Say he gets canned in July. They call up some younger guys who can help some and they win a bunch near end of year. It's possible, considering our schedule in the first month of the season is brutal, without looking, could that mean our last month is fairly easy SOS wise?
  8. Facts are Facts. Twins are better with either Stephen Drew or Kendrys Morales or both. When you are under your supposed salary cap, it's hard to state that they would be a waste of money when they make you BETTER.
  9. Twins can have success if: -Mauer plays everyday. -Hicks improves. -Dozier maintains. -Either Kubel or Willingham returns to form. -Hughes and Nolasco are above average. -Someone not named Arcia needs to be a surprise.
  10. 1. Joe Mauer plays 155 games and has 80 XBH 2. Byron Buxton doesn't come close to getting called up. 3. Ron Gardenhire gets axed during season. Paul Molitor takes over. 4. Brian Duensing and Jared Burton stink up the place. 5. Brian Dozier proves he can stick at 2B glove-wise and stick-wise. 6. Aaron Hicks shows he is only a RH Hitter. Strong D and good RH stick prove he is very capable as platoon partner/4th OF/def replacement/PR 7. Danny Santana replaces everyone else as Twins starting SS. 8. Kyle Gibson falters, bullpen move begins to become topic of conversation. 9. Phil Hughes is best FA pitcher of offseason. Helped by large TF outfield and better team medical staff. 10. Oswaldo Arcia hits 30 home runs and strikes out 150 times. 11. Josmil Pinto doesn't hit well. Shows his ceiling is as a solid backup catcher nothing more. 12. Alex Meyer arrives. Has a very solid debut, excites fan base for next year. 13. Max Kepler rises to brink of MLB debut, becomes highly touted prospect. 14. Twins end with 72 wins. Their final season ending with less than 81 wins in many years to come.
  11. Seems like Gardy is going to cut down Florimons at bats as a RH.
  12. LOL, my keyboard was being a bit wacky last night. I had Suzuki entered and things kept getting deleted, with the bold and what-not. I would take Pinto in a heartbeat, IF he was assured 3 starts behind plate each week and at least 2 at DH. Problem is Gardy will not start him at DH unless he has a 3rd catcher. Not sure I want to lose Parmelee/Kubel/Collabello to carry a 3rd catcher.
  13. LOCKS in BOLD Starting 9: CF Hicks - Provides spark, interest and most potential of available choices. 2B Dozier 1B Mauer LF Willingham RF Arcia 3B Plouffe DH Parmelee- one last stand. SS Florimon Bench 4: IF Escobar OF/DH Kubel - I think Gardy will want him and still believes in stick. 1B/OF/C Herrmann - Need a back-up Catcher, looks like Pinto will be in AAA. UTL Bartlett - Backup CF, Gardy wants veterans. Allows another IF on bench. Rotation: Ricky Nolasco Phil Hughes Mike Pelfrey Kevin Correia Sam Deduno- I think he has EARNED it. Also was probably favorite coming into it. Bullpen: (7) Perkins Fien Burton Duensing Swarzak Thielbar - I know he has options, but he needs to be up. Worley- I don't think you can give up on him.

  15. Ideally, I wish they would add Drew on a 2 year deal as well. Push Florimon to UTL role.
  16. If you can get Santana for 3 years and 1 year vesting option, you do it. Then you trade KC for whatever someone will give us. Then you sign Morales and give up your 2nd and 3rd round picks. You just let the slow outfield play as much as you have to. Nolasco Santana Hughes Pelfrey Deduno Worley Swarzak Burton Duensing Fien Perkins Diamond 2B Dozier 1B Mauer LF Willingham DH Morales RF Arcia 3B Plouffe C Suzuki CF Presley(hicks i wish) SS Florimon C Fryer UTL Escobar OF Mastroianni IF/OF Parmelee This team could maybe win 75+ games.
  17. I'm predicting a 39-1 start to the season.
  18. Ugh Souhan. Willingham is 35. Will be 37 in 2016. He is already a bad OF. Do we really want to jam up the DH spot and give Gardy chances to continue to run him out to LF? Signing Willingham to an extension for cheap, would be the equivalent(but not as good) to having Jim Thome on the roster. Can't really play anywhere but DH and PH. We already have 3 OF that are better defensively and more are on the way. Arcia needs to be a 50/50 guy at best. 50% in OF & 50% at DH. I don't like the idea of bringing Willy back unless something odd happens. I hope he bounces back and we can trade him.
  19. Why would you project them to be better than 90 losses if you are anyone other than a Twins fan? We have improved 2 rotation spots and that is it. If we add a couple of those hitters that have been talked about, I don't hate our chances of winning 80 games.
  20. Even if it is a 1 year contract?
  21. Oh ok, carry on. Thanks.
  22. If we signed two guys and lost the 2nd and 3rd round picks, wouldn't we just be able to take someone risky in the 4th and pay a little More to get them to sign rather than go to college? (Like Gonsalves) and also do that a couple other times in the draft?
  23. I've jumped the gun too many times already on Buxton. He is still so young, I want to see how he does in AA before I say anymore about the kid. Holding him to Trouts path to the big leagues isn't fair. I'd be happy if it was this year and hopeful it happens in 2015. Hicks needs to step up and claim the job.
  24. In other words, more precaution should've taken place in July, perhaps recognized he needed to get surgery then, meaning he would be in his 6th month of recovery right now? If there were concerns about his elbow, there is no way they should've sent him to DWL, which means he must've appeared to make a full recovery from his initial soreness/fatigue. Not sure if the Twins Medical staff is to blame here.
  25. If Sano does in fact have the surgery, it would be another strange scenario that would hand Plouffe more undeserved playing time. I say that and instantly look at a player who in many ways was in the same position. Michael Cuddyer, somehow he kept finding a spot in the field with the Twins to keep getting at-bats, which eventually paid off. Now, i'm not saying Plouffe is Cuddyer, but i'd be pretty cool if he was able to be Sano's backup at 3B, a RH bat off the bench, backup 1B and a backup Corner OF. (I can't exactly remember all the different things that seemed to happen that kept giving Cuddyer playing time, perhaps someone can refresh our memories)
