  1. Sano and Walker with 4 RBI Apiece (Good to still see the production as both try to figure it out early) http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20150510&content_id=123650582&fext=.jsp&vkey=news_milb&sid=milb
  2. How close was Walker's 9th inning double to being a HR? Announcer on radio made it sound pretty close.
  3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3oAnVpk-ls Found Levi Michaels walkoff on youtube. Is that the video that you had posted?
  4. Great Stuff. Could not play the video you had. Not sure if the one posted below is the same one you had.
  5. Dalton "DJ" Hicks showed true speed scoring from first base on a routine double down the line by Walker in the Chattanooga win yesterday. I was impressed. Dalton Hicks looks slimmer this season and in better shape for a man his size. I bet his off season conditioning has a lot to do with his impressive start. http://www.milb.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?content_id=95415983&sid=t498
  6. I expected this jump to the Southern League to be an adjustment for the Lookouts. I also expect all four outfielders to excel at some point soon. They just have to find their zone at this level at try to remain as disciplined as possible and to swing in their zone only. Do not adjust to bad umpiring but continue to follow their disciplined path and live with the outcomes. That can sometimes be the hardest adjustment, when the umpiring is inconsistent at the minor league levels. The question becomes - What level of performance from each (of the 4) is needed at the minor league level, that will actually make the MLB Twins better in a year or two? What skill set do they bring that makes us better in 2016 / 17? How will their minor league consistency truly make you feel better about their potential MLB consistency? We are probably still looking into 2017/18 before most of you "fans" are fully satisfied with a product you beleive in.
  7. Not only is Walker leading all AA leagues in HRs at this point, but he is off to the best BA start of his professional career. He has a .956 OPS and leads the team in Total Bases. Why would you put either of those 2 ahead of him at this point? Possible potential? I'm more excited about actual power. And people - patience is a virtue. Especially at the minor league level. Sano and Buxton will be more than fine, as will Burdi and Reed.
  8. Walkers 4 homers in 10 games (1st week 1/2) place him first in all of AA as of today. Those 4 homers would have placed him 7th on New Britain by the end of last year and 10th on the Twins by the end of last year. Not bad considering he has 130 more games to play. All that being said: He's on pace for 56 HRs, 14 Walks and 210 K's (haha). Somethings Gotta Give - Or does it?
  9. 2 more HRs today in first game of doubleheader. As usual he's leading league in HRs and Ks, but he's hitting .323 thus far. I still believe in his high upside. Maybe that's just who he is. Seems like same discussion at every level he plays. Will he be able to ______ at the next level?
  10. Isn't he ABW II and not the III?
  11. Is that good or bad IYO?
  12. I agree with "Expectmorepayless" The Lookouts first series against Tampa AA is a contest of Organizational Top Prospects. Both teams are loaded. As people talk about chemistry and this team winning the FSL title - Understand that of the possible starting 9 (counting the DH & not counting the pitcher): Polanco; Buxton; Sano; Michael; Gonzales (DH); - Possibly 5 were not on that team. When you look at the starting pitchers (Berrios; Duffy; Peavy; Wimmers) - Only Baxendale was on that team for the championship. When you look at the bullpen - Only 3 - Burdi; Z. Jones; and Johnson were on that FSL Championship team. There are still a lot of new faces. Dougie baseball can't just mail it in. They will be challenged!

  14. I hope the two of them feed off each other in Chattanooga. Nothing like a little in house competition that ends with winning being the ultimate goal. DANGEROUS DUO Do players protect each other in minor league line ups too? If one doesn't blast you - The next guy will!!! Both are bound to see more fastballs with the likes of Buxton and Polanco on base in front of them. Or Chattanooga will turn into "Stolen Base City".
  15. From your perspective - Does he work hard? I know the drills were difficult, but did he work hard in your opinion? (Bob) Did he look out of shape?
  16. I hope someone (Sacamento) has film and/or photos of Buxton's HR. Love his quick swing. Generates a lot more power than his frame would indicate. Was there a nice crowd on the final day?
  17. Good stuff http://www.baseballamerica.com/majors/2015-organization-talent-rankings/ 4. Minnesota Twins (4th ranked team behind Cubs 1 - Red Sox 2 - Dodgers 3) 2014 Rank: 3. 2013 Rank: 10. TOP 10 PROSPECTS 1. Byron Buxton, of (2). --- 6. Nick Gordon, ss (61) 2. Miguel Sano, 3b (13). --- 7. Nick Burdi, rhp 3. Jose Berrios, rhp (36). --- 8. Jorge Polanco, ss/2b 4. Kohl Stewart, rhp. --- 9. Trevor May, rhp 5. Alex Meyer, rhp (62). --- 10. Eddie Rosario, of/2b How They Got Here: Eight members of this year’s Top 10 Prospects repeat from the previous year’s list, with Jose Berrios the big mover last season. The Twins have pursued power arms through the draft (Berrios, Kohl Stewart, Nick Burdi) and trades (Alex Meyer, Trevor May). Increased investments internationally produced 2014 rookie Danny Santana, plus Miguel Sano, who missed 2014 with an elbow injury. High-Ceiling Sleeper: OF Adam Brett Walker has a raw approach and chases too many pitches out of the strike zone. When he hits ’em, though, they stay hit, and his 52 home runs the last two seasons lead the organization. 2015 Rookies: If he’s healthy after his season-ending concussion, Byron Buxton could hit his way to the Twin Cities quickly. Sano could do the same. Meyer and, especially, May should exhaust their rookie eligibility, and Eddie Rosario—coming off a strong Arizona Fall League season—was threatening to hit his way into the center field job this spring. Agree or Disagree?
  18. When do you suppose the next cuts are and who will move where?
  19. As fans we can't ask for production from players and then in the next breath say it's overrated. If you take away Walkers personal runs scored from his 25 HRs, he still had 10 more RBI than Harrison (94 to 59). That tells me that Walker could still be productive even without the HRs. At least he has shown that through 3 minor league seasons. I have a feeling that we will be doubting Walker at every level regardless to results, until he is consistent in the more important stat lines. Walker is definitely no Mike Trout, but I think he can lead the league in HRs and RBI and Strikeouts just like Trout did in 2014. Lol
  20. I agree with Pleiss. He will play in the big leagues someday. He is still extremely young. To be 23 years old the entire AA season ain't bad. The average age for the Southern League for batters is 24.5 and pitchers 24.4 years old. Either way - he would be below or at average age if he stayed in AA for the next 2 years. I'll take a 25 year old rookie who can hit 25 and 100 for the next 7 MLB seasons.
  21. Analyzing this kid becomes more difficult each day. I heard he had more 3-2 counts than anyone on the Miracle team last year, yet I hear that all he does is swing at bad pitches as though never taking a ball. I also heard that most of his hits came with 2 strikes. He had an 8 pitch AB yesterday with the MLB team before striking out. How do you analyze that problem? Obviously seeing enough pitches yet swinging at the wrong ones in full count situations? Does he just take the looking K if it's anywhere close, just to work on his plate discipline? Guaranteed to earn more walks. I truly don't know. What would be your coaching point for a guy who leads his team in 3-2 counts and leads the league in Ks? It was also stated that he isn't a 3 pitch, free swinging, K guy, as is often posted. If that is the case - What would be your advice for this kid? Does working full counts even matter in the eyes of a coach, if you're still striking out or does that make you more fixable?
  22. Harrison actually had more Ks than Walker in 2013. Maybe Walker can bounce back like his league MVP 2013 numbers (20% K rate). I listened to MLB station the other day and they talked about WAR. To my amazement - The teams with the best WAR over the last 25 years has made the World Series only 5 times. They said it was a good stat but not completely telling of a players true value. I agree - Big season for Walker
  23. All moves are based on future moves. This makes sense from a trade value. If you are going to find value in Pelfry - Now is the time while he had a nice camp. Not after he possibly goes back to last years numbers. May is still the future #4 or #5 and can not be hurt by fine tuning a little more before coming up to MLB level in June. Milone is a veteran who can hold the fort down to start the season until Meyer and / or May make their way up. Milone then can go to the bullpen and be a key component there for the rest of season. Smart moves by the Twins all away around. I'm OK with Pelfry being upset too. Any true competitor should be. Win win for everyone when the dust finally settles. Wait and watch
  24. I'm truly surprised about the release of Tyler Jones. Led his minor league teams in Saves the last 2 seasons and throws 95+. Somebody will pick him up for sure. Loved Grimes and hate to see him go, but I also understand that every player has to leave the game at some time. Can't wait to see these minor league clubs final rosters within the next week. Is assuming Rosario will be in AAA smart on my part?
