  1. Not bad for creativity. I actually see the Twins doing exactly what you posted minus the luck of trading for an Ace . I do see a trade for a reliever or C / B prospect for Arcia and _____ by mid season.
  2. Why does everyone want to get rid of the best run producer on the team last year? I agree with Ryan. Makes no sense. It's not like many of the other options were close either in run production (excluding Sano). Can't score - Can't win. Next we will be blasting the pitching for not holding teams to 3 runs because we can only score 2.
  3. The answer doesn't match the question . Traded Plouffe and inserted Sano and would play Park despite poor spring training showing. What if Plouffe stays and Park plays poorly in spring training? (original question)
  4. Did Buck play better in his return to MLB because of AAA success? I'm asking which of these guys has flourished from that AAA success. Name somebody???????????? I will agree to disagree
  5. All these AAA signings have to be discouraging to the Chattanooga players from 2015. I'm sure guys were expecting / hoping to get promoted in ST and now the likelihood is minimal for several. Michael Harrison Goodrum Hicks Menesses Wickens Wilkerson I'd rather see the Twins sign AA free agents and promote the 2015 AA crew for their first year of AAA ball (while they are young). They don't need an entire team of Vets to help a handful of prospects.
  6. Not trying to start an argument, but who was the last prospect to show a benefit from getting AAA ABs and what happened to them shortly thereafter? Truly curious. I know that's the traditional thing to do, but who in the system has truly benefited in recent memory? Colabello? Arcia? Vargas? Santana? Parmelee? Benson? Mastranoni? - Just being the devils advocate here. I'm talking Twins system only. I think all of them need MLB ABs to understand MLB pitching. Not see saw reps at both (AAA / MLB) when they faulter. Hasn't helped. Curious what they do with Sano if he faulters like Arcia did last year? (not likely, but what if?)
  7. Best Football Team within the MLB Organizations They might not know how to play football, but they have the frames and athleticism to play the sport. DE - Joe Mauer NG - Kennys Vargas DT - Miguel Sano DE - Dalton Hicks MLB - Stuart Turner MLB - Daniel Palka OLB - Adam Brett Walker II FS - Brian Dozier SS -Max Kepler CB - Byron Buxton CB - Niko Goodrum Daniel Palka Mitch Garver Brian Navarreto Travis Harrison Shannon Wilkerson Danny Santana Levi Michael Jorge Polanco Oswaldo Arcia Eddie Rosario Byung Ho Park [Not to mention all the 220+ lb. pitchers we have] --------------------------------------- Can you think of better? And don't get me started on Basketball
  8. What is to prevent what happened to Vargas or Arcia (power numbers) from happening to Sano in terms of regression (not demotion part)? They hit the ball hard as well when they hit it. Is it equally as likely (K rate regression) or less likely? And based on what rationale? Because his OBP is better? Why does Sano strike out at a higher percentage if he has better zone discipline? These are questions that concern me.
  9. What is to prevent Sano and Rosario from having a sophomore hitting drop off like Arcia; Vargas; and Santana? What makes their performances more believable going into 2016? *Vargas 26.9% K Rate as a Rookie and 29.3% as a 2nd year player *Arcia 31% K Rate as a Rookie and 31% as a 2nd year player and 23% in 3rd year *Sano 35.5% K Rate as a Rookie and ____% as a 2nd year player. *Rosario 24.9% K Rate as a Rookie and ____% as a 2nd year player. If you tell me it's all about an increase in BB and you're not worried about an increased K rate, I'll scream . Why should we expect a lesser K Rate from Sano and Rosario unlike that of Vargas and Arcia in their 2nd year?
  10. How will this change take place and are the coaches even promoting change in his game? Bigger question.
  11. I know everyone says that the 4th outfielder needs to be a vet where it is ok to sit at watch - while a prospect needs to get reps and start in AAA before bringing up. My question is this: (1) Would it not benefit a young outfielder to receive tutoring on defense in batting practice while taking a ga-zillion reps (more than he would see in any AAA game)? (Under the eyes of Molitor and coaches) (2) Wouldn't he benefit from hitting in bullpen sessions while seeing real MLB Sliders / Curve Balls / Fastballs / Etc.? (Under the eyes of Brunansky). [Not that AAA pitching is not quality - but it isn't MLB level and requires each of our prospects to re=learn all over again when they do get called up.] A sort of On the Job Training with first hand feedback and daily study of MLB talent. I'm in favor of going young with on the job training.
  12. Most don't consider Brian Dozier an ALL or NOTHING player despite his: 77 singles 71 XBH .236 BA .307 OBP .41 BB/k 5.6 Spd .165 ISO What prevents him from being an ALL or NOTHING type player?
  13. Those are fair assumptions. What about 1st base?
  14. OUTFIELD Benson? Buxton? Kepler? Walker? Rodriguez? Wilkerson? Harrison? FIRST BASE Park? Vargas? Rodriguez? DJ Hicks? CATCHER Paulino? Turner? J. Hicks? Garver? INFIELD Michael? Wickens? Goodrum? Santana? Polanco? Menesses? Mejia? PITCHERS Burdi? Reed? Chargois? Peterson? Lee? Hurlbut? Peavy? Wheeler? Wimmers? Baxendale? C. Williams? It is obvious most won't be a Twin on opening day, but might they be a Red Wing or even a Lookout? What say you?
  15. I have to imagine the Kepler's - Arcia's - Walker's probably wish they were left off of the 40 man at this point. Better chance of making another team by getting drafted in the Rule 5 than playing regularly for the Twins any time soon. If the Twins moves work out - each of the above guys becomes a 4th outfielder IMO. Not enough spots to play everybody. Some may only be 4th outfielders, but I think their upside is much better than a 4th outfielder. IMO
  16. Great Read Bottom line - Do they understand what you are saying as an instructor? and how long does it take instructor to figure out the prospect doesn't understand what he is communicating? How does each prospect learn best? Video - Demonstration - Verbal Clues - Through Failure? I personally believe that the kids in Ft. Myers and Chattanooga are further behind compared to so many other prospects in baseball, because they don't have their games televised for reference purposes. Chattanooga was one of 2 teams in Southern League to not have games televised. Most young players learn via video today. Being able to look at film from each game has to be the best teaching tool and those two important levels failed to have film regularly enough for their players. IMO Philosophy is one thing - Proper teaching tools is another. Would love for Seth and Jeremy to ask why / if the Twins teach off of film regularly at the minor league levels compared to other systems. Also ask the players if they would love to have more video of their ABs?

  18. Nice words from Scottsdale Manager (from Cleveland Indians): "It's great," said Scottsdale manager Matt Quatraro. "Any time you play, you want to win and these guys took that attitude to heart. We did it the right way. We didn't do it at anybody's expense. Everybody got to play, and everybody contributed." Walker, who's Minnesota's No. 10 prospect, had an RBI single in the three-run fourth and doubled in a pair of insurance runs with two outs in the eighth. "Man, what a great game for him. What a great kid," Quatraro said. "I can't say enough about him. When somebody like that has a good day, you really feel happy for him." (Giant Prospect & SS) Arroyo agreed. "That two-out double by Walker in the eighth was huge," he said. "At that point, I felt like we had a good chance to win."

  20. I did - And did you know that even though ABW didn't win a championship in 2013 with Cedar Rapids - The Kernels finished the season with the best record in minor league baseball. The Kernels actually played better in the second half of that season (minus playoffs of course). If he were a QB or Pitcher - people would look at his ability to win so much differently. Winning is contagious
  21. Great list, and so many other qualified guys who make the Twins future so bright.
  22. Hasn't Vargas; Arcia and Colabello been linked to KBO? All are sluggers and have had some success with Twins before being considered for KBO. I didn't think I said anything unfounded. I'll put it another way - Name the last 6 power prospects to come thru the Twins system? Are the 3 above prospects part of your list? How many have actually become power hitters for the Twins long term?
  23. I look at several of the people who are getting asked to go to Asia and they have the same M.O. (Sluggers)! I think that is an indictment on the Twins. They need to hire a Hitting Coach who has an understanding of how to coach SLUGGERS. All of our minor league SLUGGERS have trouble making it in the big leagues or have a similar fault (Strike Outs). Even Sano had / has a problem with strikeouts. Think about who in the Twins system is and was expected to help as a power threat draft choice / signee: VARGAS; ARCIA; COLABELLO; SANO; WALKER; PLOUFFE; PARMELEE; HARRISON; etc. None have made it within the Twins system as a power hitter at the MLB level (including Sano). When I say made it - I mean stuck with the Twins (MLB) as a considered power threat for more than 2 years. I once heard someone talk about bringing in Jim Thome as a spring training special instructor. Not a bad thought in my mind, because there definitely seems to be a disconnect between power hitters and continued success. Or - Bring in a specialized roving Power Hitting instructor for all the minor league levels. AND when I say special - I mean someone who actually had power numbers as a player. Not the occassional 15 to 20 home run season. Then we wouldn't have to ship off the same flawed type players to Asia every year. Thoughts....
  24. Milwaukee has nothing to loose by drafting a particular high upside reliever. A Melotakis (ex.) is a perfect pick for them because they can make it with 39 players and possibly hold him out for medical reasons. They already know this is going to be a long season, so why not take a shot on a potential key future regular.
