  1. They put together a Saturday Night Live opening credits style of announcing their lineup.
  2. The cool thing about baseball is that although you may have seen thousands of baseball games there is always a chance you will see something you've never seen before. Like this: Baseball Video Highlights & Clips | Must C Classic: Yankees turn triple play - Video | MLB.com: Multimedia
  3. Cue heavy metal power chord guitar soundtrack. Show silhouettes of rappers against a blue screen, and then have camera zoom in to a close up shot on......a white sock. Bwaahhaaahahahaha!
  4. These are the 24 oz. cans. I'm pretty sure it is strong beer. Why do you think it is 3.2% beer?
  5. Looks great on Firefox on my desktop PC monitor. Larger fonts, less clutter, just a cleaner, easier to read site. Thanks. But kind of wondering why avatars fade out towards the bottom...
  6. I've got a Motorola Razr Maxx HD. Looks like it's the full skin? (red/blue). http://i46.tinypic.com/25umemb.jpg
  7. Song sounds like the sound tracks of the cheesy 80's movies that Mystery Science Theater 3000 would skewer, like "Alien from L.A." (starring Kathy Ireland), or "Hobgoblins".
  8. Looks like you got yourself a sig line.
  9. Konerko should be #2 at 1B. Morneau #3. Keppinger (.325/.367/.439) is better than Chisenhall (.268/.311/.430). Willingham (OPS .890, 35 HR) is better than Gordon (OPS .822, 14 HR).
  10. What would you consider to be a typical percentage for operating income?
  11. Played through 7th grade. Third base and occasional relief pitcher. Pretty good glove, good average hitter with occasional power. Favorite player growing up was Brooks Robinson. Favorite player once grown up was Gary Gaetti. I've coached youth traveling baseball for the past 6 years. I would be one of those people that would say you really don't know all you can know about baseball unless you've played it, or coached it. Naturally, I'm all learned up.
  12. I think they make it to 80, probably on the last day of the season.
  13. Yup, that's the other Victorino one I have that wouldn't post.
  14. I always wondered why Gary Gaetti, with 2 g's in his name was the "G" man whereas Greg Gagne, with 4 g's in his name was not... Anyway, favorite memory of a #7 was my lunch with Frank Quilici and subsequent visit to his Bloomington townhouse whereupon I got his autograph on my Twins baseball from the 1960's. He took the primo spot on the ball, or "manager position" as he called it. This is where the seams come close together and create a natural slot for an autograph.
  15. So is he having Remove from Rotation surgery?
  16. Nishioka lands on his feet? How the heck did he manage to accomplish that--descend a flight of stairs?
  17. I would have answered, "Except for the fact that the Twins lost every time I attended and the concessions were way overpriced, yeah it was an all right time."
  18. There were a lot of choices that I wondered about but for some reason the one that stuck out was Warren Spahn at only #45. Really? Randy Johnson at #23 was that much better than Spahn? Mickey Mantle at #9? And Walter Johnson needs to be the top pitcher. My top 5: Ruth Mays Williams Aaron Cobb
  19. Good signing. He'll probably make a fine coach. Maybe he can speak Spanish. Or Australian.
  20. Nice work, Parker. Your use of video in your articles to illustrate your point is top-notch.
  21. I like the idea of incentive laden contracts in theory. But FroDaddy nailed it. Agents want guaranteed money to insure against the debilitating injury. Also, as the owner, you aren't really going to know what other teams are offering so you would never really know if you overpaid with incentives.
  22. I find it hilarious that those people that criticize the Pohlads for not spending money are (sometimes) the same ones that are willing to spend all of $8M on McCarthy, BUT NO MORE!!!
  23. Assuming he's healthy (good point Twerp) I'd go 2/24 or 3/33. If you want starting pitching, and you are in a secondary market, better pay. Look at Carlos Silva in Seattle and Gil Meche in KC. McCarthy's 3.66 ERA and 1.22 WHIP over the past 4 years is solid and easily better than any 4 year stretch by Meche or Silva.
  24. I like this trade <crosses fingers> Hard-throwing starting pitcher with high K rate. Man, the Nats must really like Span having previously been rumored to be interested in him in 2011 as well. I wonder if this is the first guy in the Nats system the Twins asked for? If not, I'd like to know who it was...
  25. With the change to cold weather in the Twin Cities Ryan's hands got cold so he is sitting on them to keep warm. Expect this to happen until next spring's thaw.
