    All of this AND the ridiculous unwritten rules that offend these sensitive players seem to expand every year, and there's no evidence to suggest that the retaliation for breaking such rules is slowing down people from violating them anyway.

    I wasn't suggesting he would be even better down the road, I'm just saying he hasn't gotten lucky in regards to BABiP.. He's obviously playing over his head, just not in the same way Santana did a couple years ago. His BB% and K% is looking good too, though. Can't really make any kind of evaluation based on what we've seen in regards to the majority of players. With obvious exceptions, like Trout:-)

    The major league scorers should hold major leaguers to a much higher standard than they do. Fielding pct./errors seemed to have at least some small value in looking at defensive performance back during Ozzie Smith's time and before. They seem to hold major leaguers to high school fielding standards now, so what little value it did have is gone for me.

    Hicks has a wRC+ of 222 and it's not inflated due to a unsustainable BABIP either. His BABIP is an extremely low .231. Murphy has started off horribly in AAA. .422 OPS. Maybe he needs to go back to AA.

    Trying to imagine a defense that has, a majority of the time, Vargas at 1B, Santana at SS and Sano at 3B. I just threw up a little in my mouth.

    When Mauer says he believes the Twins best chances of winning is with him playing, maybe he is looking at the options the Twins have to slot in his spot when he's on the bench and is severely underwhelmed by the lack of talent. I know I am.

    Drinking had exactly the opposite effect on me. When I drank regularly, I lost weight and kept it off. Of course, it was rarely beer. It was 70-100 proof drinks. Of course, I was still running 3-5 miles daily.

    My guess for 2017 WAR for those two is Baez: 3.3. Dozier 3.9.

    Baez has 5 years of control left. He's an elite defender. He can play all over the place (which is valuable for a manager like Maddon) and he's only 24. Theo will have all of Javier's peak years. 2.7 WAR at 23 with only 450 PA. No chance Theo would trade a player like that for 2 years of Dozier (who just had a career year).

    Of everyone in the administration, I hate him the most. I can't BELIEVE a guy with his racist and anti-Semite beliefs has been given ANY power in the government much less almost the most.

    i doubt the cubs would move Baez for Dozier straight up much less adding players. I like it from our standpoint.

    yankees being #1 is a surprise if you forgot about the chapman and miller trades. And their system was pretty good even before those.
