  1. earlier this year people were talking about how strong the ALC is and how weak the ALE is. We still believe that?
  2. They are praising the Twins for treading water lately. Bert praises our close game winning (and for the season, we have done well there). Thing is, we haven't been winning Bert. We had a winning % in the .300s in June, and going into today 1-2 in July. We are 'treading water' due to a great May and no one else pouring it on yet.
  3. yeah, I wasn't trying to be critical, just conversating.
  4. notice not one fan tried to interfere there?
  5. ok, but how many did we use last night and tomorrow is a day game right?
  6. Hmm, I thought that was Janie:-)
  7. are we just assuming this lead is going to hold? Burning through bullpen arms.
  8. even harder to replace a starting catcher with an OPS under .600 and bad defense?
  9. Sorry, I'm being overly critical of Bert tonight. Just drives me crazy. Like research is a 4 letter word for him. He should get some nerd help with his info. :-)
  10. Bert confusing Grienke Cy Young year with King Felix's
  11. Royals staff is so good that a guy like Finnegan, who would likely be out 2nd best reliever, keeps bouncing back and forth between AAA and the majors for the Royals.
  12. Bert, '19 comeback wins this season...when they've fallen behind. ' Is there a such a thing when a team has a comeback win when they WEREN'T behind at one point?
  13. nothing says 'I want to stop the bleeding' like bringing in Duensing....
  14. Bert needs to fact check his stats. If he was even paying attention to his own broadcast last night he'd know the walk stat on Escobar he just gave was wrong. He compounded it by getting the strikeouts wrong and the at bats too.
  15. If Hughes is our ace we have serious, serious issues. Even worse if it's not even close. His ability shouldn't be judged by one quality season this decade. That's the outlier.
  16. .293/.384/.367 with men on base. Worse with RISP.
  17. Three bullpens in the AL have allowed a higher percentage of inherited runs to score than the Twins. Only two bullpens in the AL have allowed more inherited runs scored.
  18. 'Trevor, since I built a bullpen void of anyone who can strike someone out, besides Perkins (who my manager keeps on the sideline in extra innings games against division leaders), we'd like to move the starter who strikes out the most batters into the bullpen. That's you bubba. Try not to think of your unique ability, in this rotation, to dominate as the reason you got demoted. The very moment an inferior starter gets traded or hurt, you'll be back in there. Happy 4th of July. Want a burger?'-Terry Ryan.
  19. I know you aren't. I am though. IMO, he's been our best pitcher (or at least he and Gibson) and he has a future with this team. I've gone over plenty of reasons/validations for this move and none of them outweighs the fact he's arguably the best guy in our rotation right now and that doesn't warrant a demotion...which IS what this is.
  20. I applaud your ability to predict the Twins to do the dumbest things :-) Here I was naive enough to give them credit in advance for starting to finally look at things differently.
