  1. didn't you see him grimace and grab his lower back? And right after see the bullpen scramble to get someone warmed up?
  2. Lance tweaked his back. Not that these results are surprising, but he tweaked it on a pitch earlier.
  3. As opposed to the non-stop negative posts about Mauer that a dedicated group of posters post consistently?
  4. In fairness, my post wasn't about knocking Sano or his effort on that play, mine was about why the shift was set up the way it was.
  5. When he connects, he sure can make it fly!
  6. Why wasn't Escobar on the shortstop side? We've seen the shift where Sano is on the 2B side and Escobar is on the shortstop side by himself. That's an out if Escobar is on the shortstop side.
  7. Twins games have gotten boring. It's sad.
  8. Thanks. My support team is very solid, awesome and plentiful. I'll be fine.
  9. No, I found out I have cancer. So I have surgery on the 8th to remove a lypmh node then, when I heal from the surgery, I do 6-7 weeks of radiation and chemo.
  10. I'll be in Minnesota for the last three games of the upcoming Twins/Indians series, so that's good info since that's likely the last bit of fun I'll be having this summer.
  11. 'Trump admitted he attacks press to shield himself from negative coverage, 60 Minutes reporter says' https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-admitted-he-attacks-press-to-shield-himself-from-negative-coverage-60-minutes-reporter-says/ar-AAxF1YA 'At the Deadline Club Awards presentation, Woodruff asked Stahl about her November 2016 interview with Trump — his first after the election victory. Stahl described going to meet with him at Trump Tower before the interview, along with one of her bosses, whom she did not name. After Trump began to unload on the news media, she said, she asked him whether he planned to stop attacking the press — a hallmark of his campaign — now that he had been elected. “I said, you know that is getting tired, why are you doing this — you’re doing it over and over and it’s boring,” Stahl said. “He said you know why I do it? I do it to discredit you all and demean you all, so when you write negative stories about me no one will believe you.”
  12. 4th guy with 3K or more hits and 600 or more HR.
  13. and we had no sample AT All when the proclamations that we had greatly improved our bullpen kept flowing ;-)
  14. Hey, some are still taking shots at Mauer (like in the game thread, for example) and his OPS (I only use that stat cause you did) is tops on the team.
  15. Exactly. I've said that many times, but you'll never win that argument. And it gets even harder to bunt it to the 3B side if the lefty is being pitched inside (especially offspeed pitches).
  16. Well, many claimed our bullpen was greatly improved and would be good...
  17. he is using the family excuse which usually means he is done.
  18. Ryan wanting to go after social security is bad enough.
  19. In great news (for a change), Speaker Paul Ryan will NOT seek re-election.
  20. He'll hit higher than that.
  21. I pretty much said all offseason he would ;-) And yeah, it's very early, so just as really poor numbers by some players will improve, his BABIP is unsustainable high so he'll come down some. Thing is, when he was on, he carried high BABIPs. Also, like you said his K rate is down, but it was heading back down last year too. In fact after hitting a career high of a whopping 18.5% in 2014, we've seen 16.8, 16.1 then 13.7 last year and so far 11.4 this year. He's not going to hit over .400, obviously, and he'll have streaks where he slumps, but it wouldn't shock me to see him hit in the .320s with an OBP over .400. Nor would it have before the season even started. Also, the cold has stopped at least two, and perhaps three, of his deep shots from going out of the park. He is squaring up nicely.
