I wonder what it would take to get ss Tulo... c Handley... and rp Axford... ? Meyers, Kepler, and Stewart?

Here is my 2 cents for what its worth... immediately after the all star break 1.Buxton CF 2.Dozier 2B 3.Rosario LF 4.Hunter RF 5.Varges DH 6.Sano 3B 7.Mauer 1B 8.Polanco SS 9.Suzuki C I could see swtiching Rosario and Mauer in this line up and if you do that then switch Rosario and Varges after that. That leaves us with a terrible bench but here it is... mostly just better defense. Bench: Hicks 4th OF, Plooooof traded to SF for a Catcher, Escobar, Nunez, and a bat we get in a trade.

What about Varges at AAA he seems ready to take back over the DH spot on the big club?
  4. Homer Hanky
Wondering if trading Escobar would free up time for Palanco to be the regular SS and Santana could turn into the utility guy. Which then frees up a trade of Nunez... Which then allows you to have Varges as the DH Thots?

Kepler... I think at this point with all of our other prospects... he is trade bait for more starting pitching...

I wonder... is it time to think of Alex Meyer as the set up man next year and then eventually take over for PERK... great K rate... just can't to be consistent... I do hope he can turn it around and be a starter!

This is a GREAT move... gives flexibility to move prospects around.

ploof sure is not helping his case... does he have any options? if not... trade em

Seth: Do you think the Twins would be interested in this Rule 5 guy? "The Phillies have put Rule 5 Draft pick Andy Oliver on waivers, CSN Philly’s Jim Salisbury reports. If Oliver clears waivers, Salisbury notes that the Phils could try to fully obtain the lefty’s rights from the Pirates in a trade. As a Rule 5 Draft player, Oliver must spend the entire season on a 25-man roster or else be offered back to his original club (Pittsburgh)." The Twins did draft him back in the day... and he is a Lefty...

I think big PELF.. would be the ideal 7th inning guy... as he can throw harder then the other options...

Why can't Hicks just be the 4th outfielder starting next year... and Rosario should learn to play right field unless they plan to move Arcia back there... Thoughts?
  12. Homer Hanky
I would love if he could turn into an awesome 4th outfielder... switch hitter with speed and the ability to play all 3 positions... outfield the second half of the year... LF Rosario CF Buxton RF Arcia 4th Hicks DH Hunter

I agree with anyone who says we should trade Ploof and Pinto... I really like Pinto... but, he is not going to be that good behind the plate and we can get something for him NOW... and I think Twins fans would be more happy if the BIG splash we made was... to let Sano, Eddie, and Buxton come north with the team. Then to go out and sign some big name free agent!

Things I think will happen: Twins trade Trevor Ploof/ Pinto to the Giants for and Catcher/pitcher Twins Sign Johan Santana Twins also sign one relief pitcher by the name of ________________! >>> What I hope happens: 1. Twins Trade with the Rays for some young pitching 2. Twins Trade Ricky N back to the NL for a catcher. 3. Twins Trade Trevor Ploof and Duensing for 1 stud pitcher and 1 prospect pitcher. Well what do you think?
  15. Homer Hanky
That is a great article thanks for writing... I would love for the Twins to trade Ploooof and get some arms! Maybe we can trick the Giants into another [Nathan, Fransico, and Boof trade] I hope this can happen!
  16. Homer Hanky
Let's just say NO! and keep making the way clear for our young arms in the minors!
  17. Homer Hanky
Agreed... if Hicks really struggled because of the mental game I think Torii will help that.
  18. Homer Hanky
I love your summary... I think with Torii in the fold that Mr. Ryan will be a bit more aggressive in addressing some other issues. I think with Torii encouragement... the Twins will be more aggressive. What do you guys think?

i love this signing for what the ESPN article may have hit on below: "Hunter's return also figures to help out Joe Mauer, the face of the franchise who has always preferred to lead by example and has never been comfortable with speaking up and holding teammates accountable. Now Hunter is back to take up that responsibility, and he has the résumé, the paycheck and the on-field skills to pull it off."
