  1. This. No way we could even try that without a better full time catcher. Maybe we can trade Capps for Ramos.
  2. I'd rather see Swarzak stay in the rotation for now.
  3. Completely agree. People need to stop calling for Gardy's head. He's doing the best with what we have. And PLEASE STOP comparing us to Boston LA or New York. We are NOT any of those cities, and never will be. We are a mid-market team at best. We are not going to sign huge free-agent contracts. We will not have a payroll in the top 5. This are things Twins fans have come to deal with. The last few years the WS has been won by teams very similar to us. It can be done.
  4. Yes the team is somewhat rebuilding, but we still have the pieces to be somewhat competitive. I don't see us making the playoffs, but .500 isn't out of the question. The front office isn't to blame. No they didn't not get any big name pitchers in the off-season, but when have they ever? This is not a team thats going to throw 50 million at a pitcher. As already said losing Baker and Liriano being a joke is killing us. If our starting pitching gets it under control, which I am seeing start to happen with most of them, we should be fine.
  5. The bullpen has actually been better then most would have thought. If the starting pitching was good this would be a different team. And as for Capps, yes he has given up runs, but he has not blown a save. Most other big name closers already have. Take what you want from that.
  6. We need another infielder, and I don't see how its not Nishioka. We can't keep paying him millions to play in the minors. Either that or release him.
  7. Ahh Wild vs. Aves Game 7. That was epic.
  8. Suprised by this yes, but it makes sense. I know we'll make a move on a pitcher or two, but I really wonder who comes up. For all the people who are screaming Dozier!!!, trust me it won't be Dozier. He needs to start everyday and the way Carroll and Casilla are playing right now there is no reason for him to be here. He is not a bench player. I just can't think of who else it would be. Plouffe could play more in the infield and we could bring up another outfielder...but who? Revere also needs to play everyday, but there is no room for him in the OF right now. Next few weeks will be interesting.
  9. It's great to see him off to such a good start. Plus his defense has been better the last few games. Let's see how long he can keep it going.
  10. I've never thought that Bremer talked too much until you guys brought that up. When I watch the game tonight thats all I will be thinking of!
  11. I've also been a Patriots fan for a long time so I'll always have them. If the Vikings do move to LA I will hate them as much as I hate the Lakers. It would really suck to lose two teams to that horrible excuse for a city.
  12. At least the game was on ESPN. Nice to have two national games already. I'm used to us not getting coverage on SC. It's annoying but I don't even think of it anymore. They think everyone cares about the Yankees when almost everyone hates them.
  13. Everyone should go read this. He brings up so many points that we have all been talking about for the last few months. Most of us should be able to agree with it. http://www.startribune.com/sports/twins/blogs/147744405.html
  14. If Clete continues to play well, then by all means he should be starting.
  15. I don't see us calling up another catcher if Mauer continues to catch the way he is.
  16. After that first inning, all I thought was here we go again...But what a job by Pavano after that. Good outings for Duensing and Capps as well. I always hate bringing a closer into a non-save situation, but Capps did fine. Offense was solid as well. I was originally thinking we'd somehow pull a split out of this series. Now we have a great chance to win it!
  17. I saw this thread and thought of Kindergarden Cop. "Who is your daddy and what does he do?" Classic Lot I park at is on the is about 2 blocks east of Washington. There are a few lots there that are only $5. Its about a 6 - 7 block walk to either the plaza or the train station, but it's real easy to get to 394 because you never to got on Washington to leave. 2010 no one knew about them. Last year you had to get their early cause the secret was out.
  18. I go to 508 sometimes after games. They normally have good drink specials if you show your game day ticket. Food is good too. Hubert's is also good.
  19. This was written before the win yesterday. Give it a look: http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/7804990/where-minnesota-twins-headed
  20. Morneau! This game is nuts!
  21. Two outs you're running on contact. Easy to score from second.
  22. Willingham is a beast. just...wow...
  23. Mauer = Redemption. Love it!
  24. Typical Lirano outing. One horrible inning but looked good rest of the game. Go figure.
