    Gibson, Hughes, and our mystery 5th starter are all reasons why I am not ecstatic about our 14-11 start... Don't get me wrong, I love competitive baseball for our squad and am pleased, but that's 3 big holes in my opinion.

    I just can't handle this type of managing....It's like since it's a day game the B squad has to come out, despite looking down the road at who is pitching and finding those opportunities when they make more sense. Back to the topic, I really like some of the ideas people are throwing around, to get more playing time for Vargas. However, if Vargas gets more playing time, it will come at the cost of playing time for Grossman. Mauer is playing in 130 games this year. I don't agree with it, I know Molly alluded to giving Joe more breaks, but it hasn't really happened and probably won't. This franchise is very, very loyal to Joe. It's frustrating

    So, for the sake of argument, let's say Tepecsh gets rocked on Friday and then either released or moved to the pen (not sure if he has options left). Who pitches next? If they call Berrios up, do we really think he figured out his command like Molly suggested in the one start? Or would it imply that Molly's arousal for certain players is a huge fault? That's my worry here, if this scenario happens then they completely contradict themselves, and lose some credibility... Of course there is room for other scenarios as well, but this one won't make the Twins and FO look good.

    That is what Adam Jones heard...so far I haven't read any fans ejected for the use of racial epitaphs (toward Jones). Just the guy who threw peanuts at him. The others ejected may have been what happens on a standard game day? It would be nice to know those using the slurs were caught. I would, of course, fully support the Red Sox removing people for using any type of racial epitaph.

    It looks like everyone on this thread is in agreement, but I would probably take bets that Tepesch or Gibby gets that start... I will be frustrated if this happens to say the least.

    Beat writer saying last night that Tepesch is the most likely to get the start when 5th spot opens. Which makes 0 sense. Called him up and he hasn't pitched in 12 days....

    I agree with this and also add Metakolis to this comment. Both need to be looked at aggressively...

    Berrios won't start this Friday, he just pitched last night. Nick, nice objective article. You can see Hughes, has next to nothing this year, but he has not been a disaster somehow. My guess is as long as that ERA stays under 5, the Twins will keep throwing him out there... I also don't think it will be under 5 for long, he is just way to hittable right now.

    I would absolutely be stunned if they protect Dumba. Overall a regression year from him. Yes offensive upside, but a little bit of a mess with the turn overs and odd man rushes given up. My guess is they protect Brodin (could be Marco), with spurge and suts and leave everyone else exposed. In that case we will lose either Brodin or Marco (whichever they leave exposed), not Dumba. Thus our forwards are safe as well.

    Berrios and Chargois up in May. DanSan, lasts till after all star game, no matter how many 2base errors. I ....just....don't .....get...it!

    If the answer to this question is Nick Blackburn...well he already is him. I am very hopeful the Twins' FO is different in this regard. A few more clunkers and it's time to make a change.
