Article: Kernels Unlikely Run Falls Short In Game 5
clutterheart replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
They have lots of older pitchers on their staff with the highest ave age in the league and offensively its a group that struggled. But I think these guys have a chance: Gordon Rosario Jorge Lamda- 7 replies

Really? Why? Have you heard rumblings to that effect? Do you think the Twins jetison someone on their staff? There are lots of coaches in the minors who want big league jobs and I think its unlikley that some other team poaches him from the Twins system.

I wonder why Harrison got so many votes. What about his season did the authors like? I picked him to break out this year. He didn't. He did maintain his decent OBP but his power numbers and BA are way below its needs to be for a Corner OF'er. .

Meyer had a nice August and September. It wouldn't be a bad thing if he got called up and pitched a few non critical innings in September.

No they don’t. His stats show a stagnant player with a stagnant approach. No matter how many fluff pieces are thrown out there praising Chad Allen, Walker is not improving. His power is elite and I love it. But he is not taking the steps needed to become a better baseball payer. I am sorry this has turned into yet another Walker thread…

Really? I think its a discouraging year. He still shows his power but he is not becoming a better baseball player. His flaws are still there and he seems to be either unwilling or incapable to fix them. His lack of development is a big problem.

Stuff like this is only important if the player is marginal or if he struggles and goes up and down. If he is the pitcher he looks to be Twins will sign him and buy out his last year of arbitration well before his age 29 season.

Is Walker hurt or something? His is slugging % in July and August is not what we should expect. We all knew he would fall back a bit but not this much.

Sigh. We all know its the smart move to keep Berrios at AAA. He will be under team control if he doesn't pitch in the MLB this year. Maybe Billy can leverage that future money saved and win another Oscar. Go Pohlads!

The Rays are a patient slow org, I don't think the Twins fall under this category. Look at all the guys who skipped AAA recently. Their problem is the Twins seem to be poor at evaluating who is ready to be pushed and who is not.

Article: Engelb Vielma Is Making Noise
clutterheart replied to Boone's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
He has? Why? He has always been a no bat good glove guy and this season isn't so different. His numbers is 2014: .266/.313/.323 BABIP .313 His numbers is 2015: .280/.325/.323 BABIP .327 The difference between this year and last is a few more hits are squibbing though. He started the year cold and he is now getting back to his career norms. He has had a nice end of the year but he needs to do it for a season. He is an interesting prospect. Speed + good D. But 3 months of nice hitting doesn't mean you ignore his career stats. If you look around at other systems, lots of teams have good glove no hit guys. I see him as organization filler, hopefully you are right and I am wrong. -
Boy Rogers really struggles against Righties They are hitting .323 against him! When does he get moved to the pen as a LOOGY?

Agree. Twins fans need to stop comparing Walker to Adam Dunn. Dunn was a much better prospect than Walker is. I like Walker he is interesting prospect with a Huge Power tool. But he is in no way comparable to Adam Dunn. In Dunn's 21 year old season he split time between AA and AAA Walker at age 21 was in Low A the whole season Dunn's last year in the minors (aged 21) he finished with 81 SO 62 BB in 94 games hitting .334/.444/.671 Walkers YTD season as a 23 year old in AA he has 164 So and 39 BB, hitting .247/.312/.511
