  1. 5 of the AL's best rookies are in the AL central and none of them are with the Twins. Tyler Naquin - CLE 63 G - .324/.387/.636 Hyun Soo Kim - BAL 46 G - .329/.410/ .454 Steven Moya - DET 26 G - .258/.295/.517 Dae-Ho Lee - SEA 70 G - .273//.322/.485 Cheslor Cuthbert - KC 62 G-, .298/.328/.456 Tim Anderson - CWS 33 G - .283/.293/.462 Michael Fulmer - DET 2.13 ERA, 84.2 IP 77 SO 1.07 WHIP Michael Feliz - HOU 4.14 ERA, 41.1 IP, 59 SO, 1.14 WHIP Fine. Most people including me think he is going to be a good Pro. But this article said he has been "one of the most productive hitters in the past few weeks" and a potential ROY candidate. I don't think he has been either of those things. I think a lot of people are getting ahead of themselves on him. He has hit some dingers at key times. - Fantastic, and has a good slugging %. But his overall stat lines are not in line with other rookies.
  2. What am I missing here? Last 15 Games .193/.288/.596 Last 30 games .248/.328/.578 A good slugging % does not = productive What? There are at least 10 rookies who are having better numbers than Kepler We all like Kepler, but...come on, lets be realistic...He is hitting some homers and thats cool, but he has a ways to go.
  3. Gordon has 17 errors now. He is still really young for his league, with a good Batting Average, and decent OB% his walks and SO are not terrible and he has no power - and if he starts developing power we will start to worry about PED's like his brother. I dunno. Im still high on him. I still think he is a a top 3-5 prospect in the system. Scouts still think he can play SS. But…there are some red flags that are starting to creep up.
  4. Disagree. This is the real Suzuki. He has a few hot weeks, a few OK weeks, a few really stinky weeks. In the end he is a catcher who is not good, but not terrible and can play a lot of innings. Some teams value that. But I highly doubt this is a sell high moment on Suzuki. Every GM would know what they are getting with him.
  5. "Pos-i-Tive?" What is the word doing on Twins daily?
  6. I wanted to vote before I read your votes and I just went from my memory of these players as I couldn't be bother to look up stats 1B Colabello - He killed AAA pitching turns out he was juiced but.. whatever 2B - Beresford I am hoping he gets added to the 40 man and given some shots this year. He deserves it SS - Bernier - classic AAA guy. Glad he got a few shots in the majors too 3B - Tiffee he was with them for a while and did well C - Fryer OF Restovich, Kubel, Span - Span saved his career in Rochester, a great story & Restovich was a AAAA all star SP Liriano, Slowey, Hendriks, Bonser & Albers - Albers 2013 season was amazing. His out of nowhere success gave a starved fanbase hope for 4-5 starts RP - Neshek & Slama - Slama dominated Dh - Ruiz This was the position I was least familiar with U - Dinkelman - Despite his funny name he had sustained success there.
  7. I can't stop looking at Zach Granite's stats. Man. Young for his league, good speed, good k rates, good OB%, all he needs now is power...He is overcoming his bad April and keeps getting better. He should be at AAA next year and could be a Sept 2017 call up. I can't think of a prospect at AA/AAA who has improved his stock more than him.
  8. Hated the Jepsen trade at the time. But in the end it was an OK trade. Twins got what they needed - seats in the stadium, interest in the team raised and hope in the fan base.
  9. I think July 15 is the deadline. So we should know soon
  10. Two Promotions that need to happen: Luis Arraez needs to be at Fort Myers, Tanner Witt and Alex Perez should not be blocking him. Challenge the kid! Felix Jorge should be at AA. He needs to be added to the 40 man this offseason so they might as well get him going now.
  11. For a while now we have heard that Gonsalves' stats were better than his "stuff." If that is true we should expect him to struggle in AA until he figures it out.
  12. Is Balazovic just waiting until the Twins have signed everyone they are going to sign and then he is going to try and get all of their remaining money? If so, that is a smart strategy - assuming that he wouldn't mind going to college if the Twins can't hit his number.
  13. I think fans need to change their expectations to as what a player like Dozier could return. Dozier is probably in the range of the best 5 - 10 second basemen in the majors. 2B is not a real "value position" so I would expect the return on Dozier would be a C+ - B level AA prospect. (from the Sickels scale)
  14. Very surprised that Cabbage isn't on this roster (and surprised Blankenhorn is on this roster) In 2015 they drafted 5 of the top 150 players. 1 year later, only 1 is above Rookie level ball. Just glancing around guys who were picked around them, they look behind their peers.
  15. Gordon hasn't played in abit. Did he get injured at the all star game?
  16. Why do people think Balazovic gets signed? We all would like it but I would expect his signing would have to be well over slot.
  17. Who has "earned" playing time? Park? Nolasco? Santana? Look. lots of people are over the top here. Its not likely he becomes a serviceable player. But its a bad move for a last placed team to cut young players at the expense of old players
  18. this is as good as it gets in terms of "prospect waves" Assuming that the 1st wave of hitters - Buxton, Kepler, Polanco, Sano, Rosario develop into good players by 2018 Then a young 2nd wave of pitchers can flood the team in 2018 - 2019. By 2020 we might actually win a playoff series 4 years away. Uhg. But...at least there is hope.
  19. Over 2 seasons Rosario has 7 walks in 45 games at AAA. Its almost like he is going for some record.
  20. If I were guy like Trevor Hildenberger or Westphal, I wouldn't be pleased that the Twins seem to have Greenwood on the fast track. Greenwood hasn't been good, he is hittable and not getting K's.
  21. He doesn't have a lot of positional value. But if they can trade him for a good prospect, then do it!
  22. Kepler #1? I am not sure I agree with that. I am not down on him, but really he has done nothing remarkable in 2016. And really he has only had 1 year of Minor league success. Part of the problem is the way he has been used when called up - But Polanco's numbers are much better than Kepler.
  23. Luis Arraez - this kid is having a super year. I would like to learn more about his defense. But his bat looks nice. It would be great if he could get promoted this year, but its the Twins so...probably not If he keeps his play up at his age, he could be a top 15 prospect next year Zach Granite - Wow. that BB/SO is looking good. He needs to develop power, but if he keeps going he could become a good 4th OF'er
