  1. It's hard to have emotion and energy when the team's morale is lower than a snake's belly in a ravine.
  2. I'm a friend of some diehard Reds fans and one of their biggest complaints lately has been their difficulties in scoring runs. Sure could have fooled me! They're not having any problems at all thus far in the series. I think it's about time we give up this charade of trying to be a playoff team because, right now, we're not even remotely close to that level. And I just don't see our fortunes changing for the better before the end of this season.
  3. Must be the invisible man, because no one has seen him.
  4. Good in and of itself. However, the two problems I see here are that: (1) It obviously doesn't do anything to help a bullpen that, except for Jax, has pretty much been a disaster zone most of the season. (2) It doesn't do much of anything to address a spate of largely unprofessional at-bats we've been seeing for far too long now.
  5. But will enough of the rest of the team follow along, with the proper sense of purpose? My answer to that question is a resounding "No", sad to say.
  6. Wouldn't surprise me in the least.
  7. Or maybe they think the season has been too long and they just want it to end ASAP, by missing the playoffs with ugly loss after ugly loss.
  8. "Did have" being being the operative term.
  9. A classic understatement, if there ever was one.
  10. I wish we had some hitters, like the Reds seem to have. Sigh!
  11. But it sure looks like it will. In this case, the pitching rolled over and died and the hitting was not nearly good enough to cover.
  12. I'd be reluctant to bet against it.
  13. Agreed, but I don't expect it to be how it all plays out.
  14. In my mind, they've already been off for a couple of weeks or so. Problem is, nobody seems willing or able to find or reach the switch turning the lights back on.
  15. I agree with the suggestion, but I strongly suspect that they'll be lucky just to split the 6 games. And I wouldn't be at all surprised if they don't even do that well. A season starting with such promise is slowly swirling right down the toilet and will soon be completely flushed away. Sigh!
  16. With any luck, they won't. Unless they're to embarras themselves even more than they already have. (And I can hardly believe I'm writing that.)
  17. My thoughts exactly, especially the clown show part. I'd love to hear Rocco's lame excuse for this one. On second thought, maybe I don't.
  18. Well, we just gift wrapped that win for KC. I am so disgusted with this Minnesota clown show I could spit nails.
  19. Are you happy now, Rocco? You just gift-wrapped that one for KC.
  20. Rocco trying to be clever again and, as expected, it's beginning to backfire. Surprise, surprise!
  21. To no one's big surprise, unfortunately.
  22. How about "All of the above"? As I've mentioned at other times, I believe that this ownership/front office group has gotten exactly what they were looking when the season started. Enough competence to keep the fan base largely interested until late in the season, when they don't appear to care very much.
