  1. Problem is that we need a whole lot more offensive help than Wallner and Buxton. After a third of the season, I can safely conclude that this team will only go as far as its pitching will carry it. This offensive just isn't good enough to win very many games on its own.
  2. To put it very kindly. The only good thing that happened was McCusker getting his 1st MLB hit. Good for him. Otherwise, a big nothing burger. That kind of game is going to make the cross-country flight to Seattle seem even longer than it already is.
  3. Looks like the hitless blunders are back in town. That doesn't bode well for a winning record.
  4. He'll probably be back down in SP once Buxton is activated.
  5. That pitch was middle-middle, just begging to be crushed, and the hitter obliged. Sigh.
  6. If the Rays score here, the game is probably over, given the sad state of our so-called offense.
  7. The pitching staff can also sue for a lack of support.
  8. It appears as though the Hitless Wonders have made a return appearance, much to our chagrin. Now 14 consecutive scoreless innings and counting.
  9. As a defensive player, he's extremely competent. As an offensive player, the competence comes and goes.
  10. And he's only semi-competent from time to time. I mean, we've all seen what a strikeout machine he can become for long stretches of time.
  11. While I don't disagree, I think that the lack of even a semi-competent offense has been a far bigger problem the past couple of years.
  12. While I don't disagree, the problem is what infielder do we have in the organization who would be noticeably better, offensively and/or defensively? I'd be hard-pressed to think of even one.
  13. My bad. That was so long ago I forgot about it.
  14. The bats should be well rested for the Tampa opener, being that they basically couldn't be bothered to even show up today. When are we going to get a right-handed hitter or two that's even semi-competent against a lefty? Or any pitcher for that matter.
  15. One worthless single away from getting no-hit in the last 9 innings. What an awesome offensive performance today. NOT!
  16. No runs on one hit in the past 8 innings. Putrid doesn't even begin to describe that.
  17. This so-called offense has been extremely offensive today. AARGH!
  18. Hitting 3rd. Castro at bats on Larnach's steal attempt.
  19. Hey, we finally got our 3rd hit of the day. Who allowed that to happen?
