  1. I thought we had a chance to regain some of our mojo this home stand. So much for that thought.
  2. Apart from the 2 solo homers, 1 run on 3 hits is output I would describe as pathetic against most any caliber of pitcher, let alone one with the stats Verhagen has. Kinda makes me glad I don't have to watch this on TV or in person.
  3. They need to do something on the starting pitching side. It's becoming increasingly clear that what we're doing now clearly isn't working. I don't claim to have any sense of what the answer(s) might be, but I think it's clearly time to try something different.
  4. I'd LOVE to eat my words here. Go Miggy!
  5. Neither do I. More of a gut feeling than anything else.
  6. In my mind, emphasis on the word "few". Compared to the other teams in both leagues, I'd be shocked of our batting average with RISP was not below the average MLB mark, and maybe even quite a bit below.
  7. Or like all the missed opportunities we've had tonight? Just saying.
  8. Why can't we get the big clutch hits most other teams seem to be able to get?
  9. While I don't disagree in theory, I tend to agree with Danchat that maybe we're pressing a bit much at home.
  10. I know there's still a fair amount of the game left, but I'm not having a good feeling about the outcome. When did we start playing so poorly at home? It just boggles my mind.
  11. Probably means it's a judgment call by the home plate umpire. What one considers as blocking the plate may not be viewed the same by another.
  12. Messed up that half inning royally. AARGH!
  13. I'm not expecting perfection on every single pitch. But if you're having trouble spotting fastballs, most hitters will lay off other pitches and wait for a meatball fastball. By the way, I'm not able to watch the game tonight, so I have no idea how often he's hitting any of his spots tonight.
  14. That tells me that he apparently doesn't have control of his fastball. If a pitcher doesn't have that, then it's highly unlikely that the rest of his pitches will be more than minimally effective.
  15. I'm leaning towards believing Aggies7 point of view at this time.
  16. Just another example of "we can't do anything easy". There must be an unwritten rule about that somewhere.
  17. Another run or two sure would make the bottom of the ninth much less stressful.
  18. May with a chance at a 3 inning save?? Or is Rogers going to make an appearance?
