    What if he has an Aaron-Hicks-in-2013 Spring Training? I'm obviously kidding... but I think his big league debut happens sooner rather than later.

    Just a note, the Twins had an agreement with Lewin Diaz well in advance of last July 2. Obviously not this early, but the Twins, like all other teams bend the rules. Teams, and players, also have been known to break verbal agreements. And teams have also made much earlier - and sometimes shadier - deals with trainers in the past. The issue isn't the Yankees, but the system. And I think we'll see a change coming in the future. One other thing to consider: the Yankees are significantly overpaying for guys this year. I *speculate* that in return for that, the trainers that benefited this year will scratch the Yankees back in the future, whether that means bargain deals or hiding prospects remains to be seen.

    Updated with minor changes. (Guerrier, Albers, Turpen) Didn't add anything about Albers' transfer fee (heard around $500k), and will wait to hear something more definitive.

    I'm driving that bandwagon. My impression went up after seeing him throw. He's younger than Stewart, yet more polished. May not have the ceiling that Stewart has (with the potentially for four plus pitches), but should have three above-average pitches. It also didn't hurt that he had a really good winter. Plus, like you pointed out, he is left-handed, which makes him all the more useful. Even if his ceiling is a mid-rotation guy (which Law says), I'd error on the side of it being higher. Of course, anyone this young you have to majorly project on, and, Thrylos, I know you want to see more before you see the accolades, and I respect that. In Law's write-up, he has Boer at 16. (And May nowhere present.) So it's like like his list is without faults. Also has Engelb Vielma #11, before Danny Santana. That's what's fun about these though... no one's wrong. You could argue that Thorpe doesn't belong in the Top 10 of Twins prospects or that he does belong at #5 and I wouldn't argue against you... as long as your facts are, you know, actually facts.

    John recorded all the speakers, and it sounds like it will be uploaded on GATG. From my slighty altered perspective, it was lots of good baseball discussion, too much beer, and plenty of bro hugs for the people I "met" for the first time.

    Florimon talked today about how he's ready to compete for his job again. Said he spent the off-season working on his swing and his approach. He's much longer than I expected. I think he'll be better/more consistent this year than he was in 2013.
