    Vikings made 0 adjustments after halftime. Darnell was under pressure the whole game, the rushing game was decent, when they used it, but they didn't run enough, and the Vikings receivers couldn't get open against man to man coverage.

    Darnold's throws are behind the receivers tonight, but Jefferson, Addison, and Hockenson (My 3 Sons?) are not getting open in man to man coverage...

    I don't think these guys calling for a rebuild understand what a rebuild entails - totally tearing the team apart and (gasp), running the kids out there, just the kids. Minnesota is not the Yankees, Dodgers, Mets, Red Sox, etc... that buy their way into (and out of) contention, the farm system needs to produce. That being said, the Twins have a nice mix of pre-arb, arb eligible, and veteran players and are trying to find the right mix to win the AL Central. The farm system is also producing some talented palyers. Some of these players never live up to their prospect status, some do and some over perform, it is on the manager and coaching staff to use the right combination win. Unfortunately, injuries do rear their ugly head and players get de-railed along the way, it's part of the game. It then becomes a game of next man up, which this team does not always seemed prepared for, whether it's the player's fault or the manager's, IDK.

    The BP blew at least 10 games where Lopez, Ober, Ryan or SWR pitched well enough to win. Last year's team was closer to winning 90+ games than you might think. It might be tougher to do this year, but the talent is there, the coaching staff just needs to draw the talent out.

    Learning a position at the MLB level is not how you develop players. Playing a kid part-time is not how you develop players. Continuing to play an over-matched kid is not how you develop players. Seems a lot more failure should be placed on the MLB staff than on the MiLB staff(s).

    Potential would probably be a better word, as AAA talent doesn't always equal MLB talent. But that is true for more than just Twins players.

    Kepler played everyday, getting an occasional day off against a TOUGH lefty. Larnach and Wallner sit against almost EVERY lefty. The caveat here though is that Kepler's defense was/is well above average while Larnach and Wallner both are below average. But I agree, they need to play everyday, their 0-4 is no worse than Margot's...[insert sarcasm here]

    After looking at his Baseball Reference & FanGraphs pages - OUCH. Unfortunately he will probably be given a chance because Miranda hits RH and Julien doesn't hit.

    I agree, all I am saying is this nothing new, especially in this organization. What do they call it when you do the same thing over and over expecting different results? This team holds onto players well past their expiration date and continues to run them out there several times a week, many of which fail to catch on with other teams after their Twins tenure is over. It's time to promote and play some of the prospects to see what they have.

    And in the TK "glory years" Larkin, Bush, Newman & Laudner/Ortiz/Nieto/Butera; Gardy had Punto, Casilla, Harris, Ford, Tyner amongst others....this isn't a new thing...

    Platooning players has its place, but not in the 3rd or 4th inning when a team brings in its only lefty reliever to face Wallner and Larnach. Those two are then lost for the rest of the game, and the right-handed pinch hitters have to bat when the game is on the line in the 7th, 8th or 9th innings.

    I prefer these types of articles compared to the non-sensical trade for/sign player X trash that has been on here most of this winter. As long as posters can keep their arguments logical and point out actual shortcomings and not just their individual biases and/or "Rocco sucks" it could lead to some interesting discussions.

    I'm not overly concerned about Duran given the general small sample size and volatility of a high leverage relief pitcher. My main concern would be his conditioning, to me he looked heavier last season. I didn't get to see a lot of his games, but in the games I did see, he induced a lot of weak contact, leading to several infield hits and/or plays not being made behind him, which in turn led to big innings. He also gave up a lot of contact on pitches outside the strike zone, which generally meant foul balls that prolonged PA's instead of K's.

    Yes, he had a .233/.258/.362 (.619 OPS, 70 OPS+) over 420 PAs covering 8 years (ages 19-27)

    I am more concerned about more of the same from the guy standing in the third base coach's box than I am about a regression from any of these 3. Maybe one (or more, as is usually the case) of the TD contributors could do an in-depth analysis of the coaching staff and their performance, strength's/weaknesses, potential for improvement, etc...

    Being on the 40-man roster does not guarantee him a spot, nor does it protect him from being traded again. He gets a ST invite to MLB camp so the coaches can get an extended look at him, and work with him. As stated, he's a switch-hitter who has experience at C, 1B & 2B - but he's not taking anybody's position, other than maybe Camargo, who for whatever reason has fallen out of favor within the organization. IF he makes the team out of ST, he's a once a week player used to manage somebody else's playing time (hate that term), a PH option, or an insurance plan if the team uses both Jeffers and Vazquez in the same game so as not to lose the DH. For a "nothing story" about a "nothing move by nothing organization" this is living very freely in many poster's heads - around 170 responses over at least 3 articles.
