Bruce Wayne must have called Mark Lerner and told him he needed him in Gotham....?

Nah, the Marlins didn't like all the arthritis in Arraez's knee's.....

I don't see SD trading Kim this off-season because Machado can, and probably will, opt out of his contract after next season. He could surprise everyone and elect to not opt out, like Arrenado, but Machado doesn't impress me as a team-first kind of guy.

Rodon now wants 7 years and Bassitt wants 4 years. If you think Correa's contract will be dead weight after 4-5 years, these two will get there in half the time. This year has been crazy with all the long-term contracts, many of which will not look good as the player ages. Rodon for 5 years max and Bassitt for 2 or 3 with a vesting option and a mutual option would be more palatable.

    Nimmo

Brandon Nimmo just signed a $162 MM/8yr contract. That's more than Buxton's deal (almost more than he can earn with incentives). Good deal for the Mets or no???

I'm not a big fan/believer of BTV, but those three for Lopez is a wash according to their assigned values.

    Those 3 might get Lopez

Arraez by himself does not land Lopez

Justin Verlander just won a Cy Young at 39 after having TJ surgery and only making 1 start the previous 2 seasons, but his last good season was at 36..... By no means is Cole Hamels on the same level as Verlander, but I (almost) found the comparison you were looking for.

Other than what we've heard about Turner and Judge turning down San Diego's offers, we don't know what FA's have turned down offers from teams, or teams rejecting FA counter-offers. More so than ever it looks like the player's are dictating where they go and playing teams against each other. It also looks like the Twins are possibly content with the players they have, other than still being in on Correa and maybe Bogaerts, until the FA market plays out and trades start being made.

Not my first choice of the "big four", but he could be the most affordable and easiest to trade in a few years if all the prospects work out. https://www.sportstalkatl.com/rumor-braves-decline-140-million-dansby-swanson-counteroffer/

In the current MLB, BA average means less than OPS or wRC. Analytics have de-valued the stats us older guys grew up looking at on the back of the baseball card....
