  1. New trailer is out - This is one good looking cast. Movie might suck but People magazine will be happy.
  2. Well, Garcia is a FA at the end of the season and the Twins were clearly interested in him. He's not going to get much more than a 2 or 3 year deal at most and it'll probably be in the 12-15m/AAV bin. So I could see us getting him. I'd certainly listen on offers for Santana right now but if we have to keep him, a rotation of Santana, Berrios, Garcia, Mejia, Gibson with Gonsalves/Romero et al in the wings is doable. We'd still need to upgrade the pen but it's an ok starting spot.
  3. So what are folks' thoughts on Eddie Rosario this year? He's lowered his k-rate and increased his bb-rate pretty well. His OPS+ is 109, which is pretty good. But both fangraphs and b-r ding him pretty hard for his defense, fWAR has him on pace for slightly less than a 2 WAR season while b-r has him at replacement level. I know a few years ago the Hardball Times wrote about the problem of defensive WAR calculations when you have three good OFers and that usually led to one of the OFers value being pushed down. Is that what we're seeing or is Rosario turning into Hammer/Young/Grossman type LFer?
  4. I've played most of those games and liked them. Throw in Agricola as well.
  5. They have the pieces of a pretty solid offense. They need to upgrade pitching but if they do that, they could certainly be division winners
  6. My God, there's something we agree on.
  7. Maybe. But I think Levine (who is certainly in charge of this) has a pretty good rep around the league. I certainly am not worried about him getting an AJ Preller reputation, for sure. But teams might think the Twins squeeze more than they should.
  8. Sounds like the Twins are out of the Garcia sweepstakes.
  9. Anyone a board game nerd?
  10. Well, sounds like this wasn't as much of a sure thing as expected.
  11. Shark is owed nearly 60m the next three years and is older than Garcia. B-R WAR really doesn't like him. Only 1 season with a WAR over 3 and only two seasons with a WAR of 2 or better.
  12. Just the nob of the bat while he ducked.
  13. How the hell is Rosenthal writing on facebook? I know he's still under contract with FOX but shouldn't someone have tried to get his talent to write for them?
  14. Yeah, Cleveland is beatable this year.
  15. Wade for Garcia and a backend prospect (LEN reported that Atlanta might include a prospect) seems fair.
  16. He's out https://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/c_scale,fl_progressive,q_80,w_800/g4lbbwttrucbhhzigeh0.gif
  17. Yeah, I think I'd rather lose Garver, actually. I like Rortveldt's upside even though he's very far away.
  18. Does anyone think that the Yankees are that much better than the Twins? We have a young team and we're playing those young guys. Enjoy the ride.
  19. Nice to see Baddoo moved up, he earned it. I really think he and Miranda are going to jump up prospect ranking lists this offseason for us.
  20. I don't think the Twins would move off of Stewart this quickly. While he's a lighting rod around here, he was on Klaw's top 100 entering the season, the Twins probably have a few people in the system who think highly of him and he's relatively young for AA still. I think it's more likely to be a guy like Blankenhorn or Wade type player.
  21. on mlbtraderumors, someone was posting that Brave fans are hearing that it's Blankenhorn. He's hitting .233/.341/.410 in Cedar Rapids but is currently our #7 prospect, per pipeline (although they haven't done a mid-season update yet).
  22. Oh yeah, this place is going to erupt. We apparently have a weak farm system except when we trade someone and we gave up a future HOF. That said, I really hope we aren't trading Baddoo.
  23. Braves SN site is pushing names like Baddoo (Georgia native), Javier, Kiriloff (they know that won't happen), Garver, Melo and Jay. I'm sure they mentioned others but that's what I saw reading their comments. https://www.talkingchop.com/2017/7/20/16006774/mlb-trade-rumors-atlanta-braves-jaime-garcia-minnesota-twins
