  1. Yeah...wasn't the fingers, it was the keyboard.
  2. I can hear Hawk: "Babe Escobar goes deep against the Sox yet again."
  3. The HP ump has called an extremely good game tonight, by my eyes. Maybe missed a high breaking ball strike to Sano, and a running FB from Santana that handcuffed Zuke. Otherwise...pretty darn good zone.
  4. I knew you'd edit, thus the non-quote. Cagey that way, am I.
  5. "the" all. bwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
  6. We can expect some 7th inning Chicago "defense" to help out, one hopes.

  8. How do you comfort an English teacher?
  9. That 2-0 take is a big part of Mauer"s lack of production, IMO.
  10. You could try not watching the MF'ing Yankees.
  11. Is it possible you are intentionally missing the point?
  12. I think all you have to do is watch the difference in what happens if Tommy Milone issues no walks but throws many pitches that cross the middle of the plate, thigh high, and what happens if Tommy Milone throws many pitches that cross the very outside corner of the plate, knee high. Both are strikes, but they are very different pitches. Control, vs. command.
  13. In general, control has come to mean the ability to throw enough strikes to avoid walks. Command has come to mean the ability to throw quality strikes, locating within the strike zone.
  14. I don't think KC is winning primarily because of corner OF defense. I'd trade Rosario before Hicks, but like you I'd keep all three current OFers, at least for 2016.
  15. Chalk me up as "minimizing" the effect of corner OF defense. I certainly won't turn down having fast guys in the corners (not only on defense, but speed helps the offense) but I want corner guys who can hit. Nobody wins a pennant based on corner OF defense. There's too little delta between plays made/not made to make much difference.
