  1. then who? The 9th inning IS a rule, last I checked, and the batting order turns over too.
  2. If you bring Duffey into the 6th, best case is Alcala faces the top of the order in the 9th.
  3. I don't think it can be argued that the bullpen games havent had a negative effect on the pen. Sundays game played a role in losing last night's game. Alcala isn't brought into a 1 run game against the top of the order if the better options weren't unavailable. I also agree with the point above about lack of fastballs from Alcala. It was weird.
  4. Duffey's velo has been down significantly recently. I wonder if there's an issue.
  5. The problem isn't Maeda going only 5 last night. The problem is that stupid bullpen game the day before.
  6. Rogers left way too many sliders in the middle of the zone. Again. Still, goes in the W column. Shame to use virtually the entire bullpen going into Cleveland.
  7. With as analytically driven as the front office is, I don't understand not having a RH hitting outfielder in place of Cave for the past 2 seasons.
  8. I guess we know for the Twins, a 7 run lead is insurmountable, the point at which you put Adrianza on the mound.
  9. We should automatically count it as an "out" if a batter hits a can of corn fly ball, too, amiright? I didn't think I'd come to TD and read about the dropped third strike rule. Am I on the STrib game recap?
  10. You can put game two in Rocco's personal loss column. No way Berrios should still have been in to give up that 3 run shot to Merrifield.
  11. Mu guess is there will be some trades, but most will be salary dumps. I believe this will be an opportunity for a few teams to unload a contract or two.
  12. Really nice performance thus far in 2020 by Maeda. Nothing spectacular, just solid, professional pitching.
  13. Do SOMEthing. They've already had too many bullpen games.
  14. There were no outs when Kepler got rung up. I hate the idea of an automated strike zone, but MLB has to do its part too. Jerry Meals can't be an umpire. His umpiring that inning, including missing an easy K in the bottom of the inning, completely changed the game. I also do not understand the Twins refusing to call up starting pitching. They're in a stretch of like, 34 games in 35 days or something. They get precious few innings from the starters they DO have. Why are the intentionally doing bullpen games? Just unnecessary stress on your best relievers.
  15. I'd like to see him scrap the 2 seam and throw the 4 seam almost exclusively. He can't command the 2 seam. It gets him behind in counts, or it wanders to the middle and often gets hit hard.
  16. Sloppy. Sloppy baseball. Wild pitches, passed balls, stolen bases nearly uncontested. Godawful 0-2 pitches. Indifferent ABs. Some really bad baseball. Garver in particular is really playing poorly behind the plate.
