  1. Is there some reason I'm reading editorial notes in this piece?
  2. Not to speak for RpR, but if you weren't saying players need load management to be rested for the postseason, what did you mean by this? "The Orioles and Yankees fizzle out in the playoffs. The Dodgers have only won a WD is a short series and currently have 12 pitchers on the DL. Atlanta won their WS with 2 players who did not play every game that year as ther series MVPs. With potentially 22 more games in the playoffs maybe there is something to the load management That's an exact quote from you in this thread.
  3. Falvey, in early November. (But certainly he isn't the one deciding what the payroll will be.) https://www.si.com/fannation/bringmethesports/twins/twins-confirm-payroll-reduction-is-coming-in-2024 Joe Pohlad confirmed in February, with the infamous "right-sizing" interview. https://www.si.com/mlb/twins/news/joe-pohlad-says-twins-wont-splash-cash-on-big-free-agent
  4. I have trouble blaming Joe Ryan for much. Should have been out of the first down 1-0. I don't know what happened to MLB scorekeeping, but a routine fly ball bouncing off Kirilloff's glove isn't a double. I don't recall ever seeing a MLB outfield have a worse series.
  5. You should mention this another half dozen times or so.
  6. recommendation: "Unfrosted" on Netflix. So stupid, it's hilarious. An insult contest between Melissa McCarthy and Hugh Grant is a personal favorite
  7. Heh. You mean like the 6th inning? Where Ryan gave up a double, but somebody else had to let in the run? double standard indeed. And for the record, that first inning "double" wasn't a double. Except in some idiot official scorer's opinion.
  8. I believe "suboptimal" is the current corporate buzzword.
  9. What? What the actual **** are you on about?
  10. The HR to lead off the game was his fault. The rest, not so much.
  11. Provus: "Thielbar has allowed just one run over his last eight games." I call shenanigans.
  12. Torres came into this series with an OPS under .600. Twins pitching, the cure for what ails ya.
  13. That can't be right. There's no way he got a hit this month.
  14. Routine, can-of-corn 410 foot fly ball.
  15. Thank you. There is no such animal as a "low-leverage reliever." I don't understand how anyone still thinks that. Or ever thought that. We lost two games last week with "low-leverage relievers."
  16. This game should be 1-0. edit: which, come to think, doesn't refute your point.
  17. I wonder if a major league team has ever had worse outfield play over a 3 game series.
  18. Julien was such a tough out last year. What happened?
  19. When you get every ounce of it, and it dies just short of the warning track, that's not a good sign. See Margot, Manny.
  20. What is it we're supposed to be getting from Vazquez again?
  21. Twins 1-7 against Yankees, Dodgers, and O's. Seems like you're making the other person's argument for him, rather than refuting it.
  22. Oh come on, FFS. Four hitters in. 3 K's and a 15 foot nubber. Pathetic.
  23. I can't stand that when Santana "holds" a runner on, he's not actually holding the runner on. He's 3 or 4 feet off 1st. There's been I think 3 pickoffs that would have gotten the runner had he actually been on the bag. He has to reach 4 feet behind him as he plays it.
