  1. Stop it. Jeffers at CATCHER. Catcher. 120 games. It's been done, and nobody died. And it keeps Vazquez off the field another 40 games.
  2. I'd say McConaughey. Even Margot wouldn't have done those Lincoln commercials.
  3. Rocco: "Rubes don't like Margot hitting third? Fine, howsabout leadoff, geniuses? How ya like me NOW??"
  4. Mickey Mantle? Marilyn Monroe? Matthew McConaughey? Mickey Mouse? .... Mike Myers? ... Martina Mcbride?
  5. To be fair, it's no worse than Dave St Peter's blaming the fans.
  6. You can play Jeffers at catcher at a 115-120 gm/yr pace, like catchers have ALWAYS done. There's no law mandating Vazquez gets on the field every other game, no matter the results. Granted, that'd be easier if the geniuses running the Twins had an actual hitter to DH, but still. There's literally 12 better lineup options on the active roster than Vazquez.
  7. Margot leading off. Can one of the Rocco supporters please try to defend that? It's ridiculous. And it'll be ridiculous if Margot gets 3 hits today.
  8. I believe one fundamental issue with defense in this organization is their belief that anyone can play anywhere, any time. Move guys around willy nilly, including in the minors. Infield to outfield, vice versa. Nobody ever learns a position. Pick a spot, play it every day in the minors. Learn it.
  9. Did Rocco mention his 3rd base coach last night, who snuffed a rally with an absolute stinker of a send? Did he mention his own slavish addiction to platoon deployments which had a guy currently OPSing BELOW .500 hitting THIRD?? His baseless belief that his best players can't play every day? I posted last year Baldelli needed to go. Got some flack, but it was true then, it's true now. Managers matter, and ours doesn't get the most from his team.
  10. I disagree with both statements. "Not spending," AKA trying to get by without talent, isn't a good idea for any part of your team, but when it's the part of your team responsible for run prevention the last 4 innings of every game it's particularly damaging. I also disagree that relievers are more "volatile" than other players. Good relievers are better than bad relievers. Maybe in the 60 IP typical sample size, at first glance it doesn't look that way, but that isn't volatility. That's random small sample variance and not something to count on.
  11. I'm thinking Dave St Peter did ya'll a solid when he made sure you wouldn't be able to watch.
  12. Gotta go, ladies and germs. Trivia night with Chief Jr Jr.
  13. I'm sort of fascinated by this. Vazquez's OPS now .372. Three. Seventy. Two.
  14. Vazquez is valuable for his defense....
  15. I can't drop this. Rocco has a guy with a sub-.400 OPS hitting 3rd. And they want me to buy tickets for that. I mean, come ON.
  16. I'd say more "Babylon Bee" like. Sort of like the Onion, only not clever or funny.
  17. And there you have it. Margot's OPS now FOUR NINETY SEVEN. Four. Ninety. Seven. EDIT: and the broadcast crew can shut the ^^^^ up about "unlucky." He ******** sucks.
