  1. If ERod proves ready., he'll be up a d manning an OF spot soon enough. Bader won't stand in his way. Bader isn't ERod's competition. .Meanwhile, we maybe won't have to endure Martin in CF twice a week or more.
  2. Less than 10. Hes got less than 150 ABs above A ball. He's not ready for a MLB job.
  3. Buxton isn't an every day starter. That's one reason Bader is a fit. I don't think ERod is anywhere close to being an MLB starter. If he is, great. That'll be known quickly and he can come up and take a regular job in RF, most likely. But I don't think that's very likely.
  4. I don't think either ERod or Jenkins are Bader's competition for a roster spot. Neither of those 2 will be 4th outfielders for the Twins in 2025. Maybe for.the last month of the season. Prior to that. If they're in Minneapolis, they're playing every day. Bader isn't a full time player, unless/until Buxton is on the IL. ERod/Jenkins are competing with Wallner and Larnach for spots.
  5. I don't think Bader is the every day starting LFer. But I'll play along. If signing Bader moves Larnach to DH, who was DH prior to signing Bader? Also, who plays CF if something really odd happens, and Buxton doesn't play 162 games?
  6. My concern is the opposite. I suspect it's more likely we see Bader PH for Wallner/Larnach in the 5th inning against a lefty reliever rather than the other way around. But if not Bader, it'd be Martin. Rocco can't resist. And I'd take Bader over Martin 100 times out of 100.
  7. He's utterly competent as an outfielder. Certainly not with the bat. As opposed to Martin, who is utterly INcompetent as an outfielder. And also not with the bat.
  8. Well, there's a strong possibility we'll see Bader PHing for Wallner in the 5th, so i agree he's going to get lots of playing time. More than just time in CF But Rocco would be doing the same with Martin, so the problem lies there, not with Bader.
  9. Personally, I find WAR dubious at best. Both flavors, although if forced to choose I'd use bWAR over fWAR. But it's interesting none of those pooh-poohing this signing bring up WAR, where Bader was between 1.5 and 2 WAR better than Martin in 2024, depending on version. Many of thise same folks throw around WAR regularly...when it suits their arguments.
  10. I was thinking just the opposite. Bader ain't much, but if he keeps Martin out of the OF it's a giant upgrade.
  11. I will give you 10 to 1 odds on $100 the Twins don't end up with 86.5 wins.
  12. Put Lewis at 3rd and leave him there. He should be multiple years into learning the position by now. Let's not dick around with his position any longer. I loath the Twins "Anybody can play anywhere" philosophy. All it does is mean we have NOBODY who can play anywhere
  13. I absolutely loath the Twins "Anybody can play anywhere" philosophy. Learn a position in the minors and play it. If there's an injury, IL the guy and call up a replacement, who has learned the position in the minors. "Flexibility" and "versatility" are just buzzwords for crap defense.
  14. I don't think that was the point. An MLB.tv subscription won't get you Twins games in market. For example, I watch the Twins in Tucson via MLB.tv. But when I'm in Minnesota, I'll need to pay extra for the Twins package, despite having an MLB.tv subscription.
  15. This article, in fact, ISN'T everything I need to know about the Twins new TV setup in 2025.
  16. "Active in trade market" is the rough equivalent of "in on free agent X."
  17. I'm about ready to say goodbye to MLB. Ridiculous
  18. And Smalley was nice enough to stop and chat for at least 10 minutes. Genuinely nice guy
  19. RIP. A truly great baseball person.
  20. I'd have to agree. At this point, it's a complete and total fail of an offseason, and there isn't enough remaining talent available to change that. Even if there were the will, which is hard for me to believe in.
