  1. Archer not hitting the bull's eye so far.
  2. Having "Price Chopper" in the background of the broadcast does not seem encouraging to potential free-agent signees...
  3. This guy looks dangerous. Half of his pitches are head-high and in the batter's box.
  4. It seems like Perez and Merrifield have been torturing the Twins for 20 years. Shouldn't they be graduating soon?
  5. Coming through loud and clear in Portland.
  6. Perhaps this is how "respected" writers start to lose respect?
  7. Could win all three, or lose all three.
  8. Now! Someone seems to be moving the letters around on my keyboard this morning.
  9. OK. I'm comfortable new. (Twins lead) > 4 * (Innings remaining).
  10. Fenway Park reminds me of playing ping-pong with a wall near one side of the table that is deemed "in play" by the house rules.
  11. Do the demons realize which team is batting?
  12. Two more runs and I'll trust that we are going to win. An 8-run lead with two innings left seems safe...
  13. Nice of us to lend them our bullpen for the day.
  14. Of accidentally trip the runner and give him home on interference/obstruction.
  15. Really? With the Twins' bullpen?
  16. Plus, Kepler is the better OFer.
  17. I'm seeing in the Post that yesterday's Boston catcher has tested positive for Covid. Have they talked about that on the broadcast? (I have the sound down off to listen to piano music today.) Apparently they will play in Toronto next week without their unvaccinated players. What a great advantage for the Blue Jays. Maybe Minnesota could do something ...
  18. Who is this team in blue and shat have they done with our lovable losers?
  19. It can vary, but most of the bands in the PNW (there are at least a hundred) have about 7. Three sopranos, two tenors, a baritone, and a bass, which is a huge piece of equipment. Our bass is about 8 feet long with 10 keys and stands off the ground so that you stand on a platform to play it. The instruments are "white-keys only," though a lot now have F#s. We play mostly Zimbabwean music, either folk songs or modern compositions by the plethora of Zimbabwean and South African marimba composers. We use no music and memorize our (often drone-like repetitive) parts along with the cues and signals for the changes. Lots of fun!
  20. Our marimba band used to play for the Portland Marathon. Super fun gig. Our spot was early on the course (mile 3?); we started playing at 7:15 to some unhappy neighbors. Our spot was on a pedestrian bridge over the four-lane road on which they ran right under us. Everyone had so much energy and was cheering our songs! And they were all close together so in less than an hour we were done and heading for breakfast. Then the Portland Marathon went broke and was recreated temporarily, then permanently under new management. We played one year at a spot in mile 23. The runners were so spread out that they had two bands playing for two hours each. We were second, and played for a trickle of exhausted mostly-walkers at that point. Much less fun. The new management has not called us back.
  21. A lineup of replacement players (and couple who are playing like it).
  22. What do the stat-heads think would be the record of a team of replacement players? Because that's what this lineup looks like right now. Correia and Polanco are playing at that level and the rest of the lineup (I'm looking at Monday's lineup against the No-Longer-Yellow-Sox with Garlick at cleanup) ARE replacement-level players.
