    Probably wouldn't have meant much but I gotta wonder if scouts got Grossman the info that Revere has one of the worst arms in high school baseball. Chances of little Benny throwing him out at 2nd on that fly to left were pretty minimal.

    I guess there was a reason Rucinski was sat down in the pen.

    Spot-on observation. I was listening to the game in the car when I went to grab some food during a work break and thought, 'ok, get Erv thru the 7th and then let Rucinski and Wheeler handle the business the rest of the way and we'll be fine.' The pen got obliterated yesterday and it was important to get everyone a rest, especially when your offense explodes and your starter gets you 7. Very messy.

    How many times do you see a guy come up 15 feet short on a dive in the outfield and then hit a home run the next half inning? Answer -- when we edit it that way. 3 bad pitches have cost us tonite.

    Bad hop grounders apparently are hits nowadays. Wish I had these official scorers when I played 2nd base.

    1st inning -- couldn't touch him 2nd inning -- touched him, hit it to people 3rd inning -- touched him, hit it to people, they fumbled with it and we got a guy on base 4th inning -- hit it where they ain't...floodgates open

    If I was a pitcher, I'd never throw Sano a fastball and I sure as heck would make sure if I did that it was nowhere near the strike zone and just pepper him (and Buxton too) with off-speed stuff. Sano has gotten better from last year about laying off of much of the breaking stuff but this last week has been a real test for him.

    It's a rare night when I get to watch our boys on my big screen rather than a computer screen. And now that I can take a couple of nights off from breathing in a paper bag because of my hockey team, it'll be fun to concentrate on another winning team.
