  1. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO See y'all in April.
  2. Perfect way to end the season -- with another baserunning blunder.
  3. Rocco's ultimate F U to all his detractors. One last sign to show he doesn't know how to handle a pitching staff.
  4. If anything, sacrifice a live chicken or something.
  5. One more novel concept -- getting the contact play to work with 1st & 3rd and 1 out.
  6. Another novel concept -- making a productive out with the bases loaded and nobody out.
  7. Novel concept...getting a base hit with the bases loaded and nobody out.
  8. Hope they want to be cremated because why would you want to be laid to rest in those hideous uniforms.
  9. Just back from working a 49-3 HS game...thankfully there's a running clock in the 2nd half for these things. Tune in to the game and what a surprise, Cade Povich shutting us down.
  10. Just one in a long line of failures by Rocco to notice when a pitcher didn't have it. He'd then double down on this poor decision by bringing in his precious lefty Okert to protect a lead in San Diego that would go up in smoke. Add to it the decision a couple weeks later to pull a cruising Bailey Ober in a 1-hitter thru 7 because he was at 83 pitches and was seeing the lineup a 3rd time, despite retiring the last 15 in a row. Don't forget in the last week of the season in a must-win game, he brings in some lefty off the scrap heap to face a lefty batter who the starter could have easily taken care of with 2 out in the inning. That lefty throws 4 uncompetitive pitches and it opens the floodgates to another debilitating loss. That's 4 decisions right there in the last 6 weeks that essentially killed the season. That's just with pitching. The decisions with lineup jumbling and the mass parade of pinch hitters all because of some perceived 'advantage', including a guy who is OH FOR THIRTY this season, deserves its own chapter. Us old schoolers will not be very easily convinced that he's not a terrible in-game manager. Given what has happened over these last 6 weeks, it's now questionable that he's as great a clubhouse guy has he's been portrayed throughout his tenure.
  11. I'll go counterpoint on your #2. Did we really think we had guys in the minors that would step right onto a MLB roster and set the world on fire? Matthews started the season at High-A for crimony's sake. He more than exceeded any sort of expectations by getting to The Show as soon as he did. If you're looking at the youngsters through a 2024 prism, yes, they're not what a team considering itself to be a contender needed to get over the top. They could have been good supporting actors for spot duty here and there but not the main characters they had to be. But if you look at this from a 2025 and beyond perspective, this was a great year for them. They got all of the rookie initiation stuff out of the way and all four players (Lee, SWR, Festa, Zebby) have a baseline that they and the organization can use to build for future goals. Orrrrrr, they have put stuff on tape for scouts that could make them good bargaining chips. The guys I'm disappointed by are Lewis, Miranda, Julien, and AK. Those are young players who had a similar taste of the majors over the last couple of years and with the exception of some mercurial stretches, they were largely subpar the majority of the time.
  12. Welp, that about does it. *Ownership a bunch of cheap a-holes *GM fails miserably in every move he/they made *Manager is the dumbest in the sport *Players are grossly delinquent with fundamentals and don't have a single clutch muscle in any of their bodies because they've likely strained or pulled them. 17 games over .500 on August 16 and this is the s*** sandwich they serve the fans to end the season. Hopefully, the hurricane remnants here don't wipe out the HS football game I'm working tomorrow night so I don't have to watch it officially end. Absolutely freaking pathetic.
  13. So of course the new guy has to get in on the inherited runners stat.
  14. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  15. Worst fundamental team in the majors and that includes the Chisux. What the F was Santana doing at 2nd?
  16. He might be the only one left in the pen at this point.
  17. This team is really something in bases loaded situations.
  18. Could be the microcosm of the season in these next 2 ABs.
  19. I don't hate it from a defensive standpoint because his run means nothing. But then, I'd go with walking Lewis to load the bases and have the force for just the reason you mentioned with the Larnach squibber.
  20. Anyone get the launch angle on that Royce contact?
