Why the rush to get Zebby out of there? Oh no, he's facing the order a 3rd time!!! Managing scared just like he did with not letting the lefty hitters face lefty pitchers. Analytics are worthless when you have zero feel for the game. But then, we've been saying this for 6 seasons now. -

No team flails away with the bases juiced quite like our Twins.

And only by the fortunate dealings of Pablo and Joe Ryan (with a timely pickoff) and a still-scalding Royce Lewis did the postseason streak finally disappear. He has never shown a feel for the game in his 6 years and relies FAR too much on numbers. I said after the locker room blowup a couple weeks ago that you would be able to tell exactly what the players thought of him by the way they responded on the field. Now we've seen it. The players know and the players have a feel for the game and while they'd never publicly voice their disagreement with a manager's move (players play, managers manage, etc), I'm sure there's chatter in private circles outside the clubhouse between the players, especially the veterans, that they don't support a lot of the things Rocco does during a game.

And with that lineup construction, their players always know which slot they're going to be in the majority of the games. As opposed to our manager who picks names out of a hat to slot them into a lineup.

In the early 90s during the Pirates heyday, Jim Leyland would have Gary Redus in either center or right when Van Slyke and Bonilla had days off. My dad, a big Pirates fan, gave Redus that name because of some of the misplays he'd have in the field.

Provus asks if in these last 9 games, should Rocco just go with the best hitters regardless of what hand the pitcher throws with. This was in regards to Farmer getting another hit. HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN GOING WITH THE BEST HITTERS REGARDLESS WEEKS AGO!!

So how's it going to get kicked away today? 4 errors? A late baserunning blunder? Which relief pitcher serves up the killer gopher ball? Or will it be another typical afternoon getaway game where they sleepwalk through ABs and the on-fumes SWR struggles to get through 5? As you can tell, my faith in this team has gone with them down the toilet.
