  1. Geez, what do you call those who don't drink coffee?
  2. This is the type of character builder that they couldn't squeeze out in NY last week.
  3. What are we thinking as far as Trevor May is concerned if he can come back at full strength? Starter or Pen? I think he's better off in the pen. I advocated a couple of years ago that he could be the middle guy in a 3-man rotation similar to what the Royals did in 2014 and 15 with their pen. As it is now, the Twins are going to need to find a closer unless they think that's Belisle's job long-term. I think you and I both know that's not terribly appetizing, even though Belisle has been decent since inheriting the role. Perhaps May could someday be a closer? Could Gee be a closer? Now, I'm saying this not knowing any contract situations and I'm not looking while the game is going on. But of the arms that we've seen throughout the season, this is who I would like to see in the pen next year: Belisle (if he's signed thru 18) Hildenberger (potential 7th inning guy in a 7-8-9 Royalsesque rotation) Rogers (I'm hot and cold with him but I think he'll get better) Busenitz (maybe he could be a closer sometime down the line with his heat?) May (depending on injury status) I'm not terribly interested in Pressly or Duffey coming back and there's not enough data on Curtiss or Moya as of yet.
  4. Nice job, rally killer. Sheesh. Rally killer? Rally STARTER!!
  5. Anyone wanna trade Dozier while his value his high??
  6. And now we can get into the best part of OUR bullpent. Come on Hildy!!
  7. Tonight has also served as a good exhibit of those pitchers who hopefully won't be on the roster next year -- Colon, Pressly, Duffey....I'm looking at you.
  8. Difference in the game so far is the Indians got the big hit when necessary and the Twins have continued their frustrating habit of leaving guys in scoring position in big spots. The first 2 games against the Yankees and tonite's game have been good training tools for the playoff crucible. They're not exactly brimming with confidence at the plate when the chips are at their highest.
  9. Looks like we have an All-Star game on our hands tonite -- everyone gets to pitch!
  10. Makes you wonder how quickly after the final out they deep-six Ausmus.
  11. With the Twins reaching double digits tonite, I'll be scrambling for the 'under' bet in tomorrow's game.
  12. 1st base umpire must have found a hot date on Tinder and is running close to the time to meet her because there's no way that was a swing. Oh, and that's the clown that will be behind the plate tomorrow nite.
  13. *hides eyes* Welp, here comes Pressly.
  14. Show of hands.... How many of y'all back in June had Mauer at .310 or higher by this point of the season?
  15. Awwwwww...you're gonna pull Mejia NOW?
  16. Got some meds to deal with the shakes in these situations. Hopefully the bats can come through.
  17. If the pitcher is going to continue to throw first-pitch strikes, you might as well take an aggressive approach.
  18. I don't. I did a Google search the first time and I clicked on the WSJ link and that came up with the subscription firewall. I re-did the search and clicked on the WSJ Facebook page link that came up and then clicked the link to the story off their FB page and that had no subscription firewall.
  19. Link to the Wall Street Journal feature on Buxton that the FS1 announcers mentioned last inning: https://www.wsj.com/articles/how-tracking-technology-helped-baseballs-best-fielding-outfielder-1505923095?mod=e2fb
  20. Would we feel better about Slegers or Gee in this spot? I know I was a little surprised to see Mejia back in the rotation last week and wasn't feeling all that great about it before he had the poor outing.
  21. Angels lose 4-1. Big opportunity tonight.
  22. But...but...but....I'm making my 1st MLB (gameday thread) start tomorrow night!!!!
  23. Classic playoff-type game with the low score and the back-and-forth scoring chances. Twins just couldn't get the big hit like the Yankees did. Try again tomorrow nite.
  24. Welp, really good pitching tonite out of the Twins. All you can really ask for in a situation like this.
  25. That looked safe....replay....eh, close
