  1. That's a pretty absurd statement when you're still trying to win games.
  2. Good news is that this game may only go about 2:15.
  3. Castro struck out to end the last inning so he can't lead off the 8th.
  4. It's getting dangerously close to the 5th inning and we haven't scored yet.
  5. Oh, wait a second...it's a national game on FS1?? (Why????) On the big screen it goes!!
  6. No Bremer on this broadcast? How will I know to get excited about a routine fly to left?
  7. Petco is a pretty fun ballpark. Inside, it feels like an open-air mall when you're walking along the concourse. Since they always have great weather, it's easier to be open like that. There's a 'beach' behind the RF fence where the falls are cushioned by those chasing BP home runs. Sight lines are pretty good too, though, my seat in the first row of the upper deck gave me acrophobic anxiety so it took away a little from my enjoyment of the game I went to there. Outside, the park is located in the perfect spot downtown -- close to all the bars.
  8. MLB Network just cited the Washington Post report as well. Hopefully it's not for a couple of busted bats and an empty jar of pine tar.
  9. Phil Cuzzi's at 2nd tonite....we know his track record.
  10. The first time he struck out looking, it was definitely outside. But apparently, this Triple-A ump has established that as his edge so the next time you see that pitch, ESPECIALLY with 2 strikes, you have to hack at it. And once again, the Twins leave the bases loaded.
  11. Dozier taking window shopping lessons from Castro. SWING THE DAMN BAT!!
  12. You people and your mornings. Unless it involves travel or a tee time, I don't want to know what anything before 8am looks like. Of course, it helps to have a job that I often don't have to be there until 10am at the earliest.
  13. When the director cut to Buxton 3/4 of the way to 3rd base, he looked to me like he wasn't going to stop. He was just gonna say 'f it, let's see if they can put two good throws together' and then we cut back to Jones's throw and...it's going to 2nd base??? Easy score now!! Despite his horrid at-bat with the bases loaded in the 4th, his bat is coming around. There seems to be a few people who want to slam on him for what he's been doing at the plate but Bux's speed has been what keeps everyone encouraged that the bat will come around. That speed provides outstanding outfield defense and as we saw in this clip, he can be a real danger on the basepaths.
  14. Comebacks like this do nothing but breed confidence in the entire roster....something a young group like this one really needs after getting their ears kicked in repeatedly last season. After a one-year hiatus, it's nice to be at the All-Star Break and still have meaningful baseball to watch.
  15. I like Jorge getting another look after a pretty decent first outing. Now isn't the time yet to be auditioning guys that we HOPE can compete at this level. Jorge showed he could in his first go-around. Turley was a disaster from the start and we let him hang around for a couple more bad starts. As for the game last nite, the Twins show that when the bats are on, they just crush it. And when the Orioles get a little loose, the wheels just come off. Good holds by Kintzler and Rogers. Still covering my eyes when Duffey comes into the game.
  16. Anyone else on the farm we can add to this putrid bullpen?
  17. The trip from Seattle to Chattanooga has at least 2 layovers, I think. Hope Rosario packs lots of snacks.
  18. Santiago has regressed to his pathetic mean. Such a tease those first couple of weeks.
  19. Ruh roh...I don't like what's brewing at Safeco tonite.
  20. Someone might want to give a Code Red to Santiago.
  21. Scooter Gennett with 4 dingers for the Reds tonite. Hope the Twins can match him though, Paxton hasn't allowed one in 45 innings.
