  1. If Correia would suddenly give up 3 runs this inning, would he still be credited with a quality start?
  2. ....passing my time by seeing how many times I can punch in Morneau on MLB.....
  3. I'm guessing the Twins will do some thinking "out of the box" and select Deduno
  4. Gardy: Ricky, do you want to go to Rochester for awhile? Nolasco: uh, no.... Gardy: Well then... your elbow is hurting Nolasco: What? Gardy: It's been hurting for some time, but you thought you could pitch threw it... Nolasco: uh, that's right Gardy. Gardy: And you think you should have a MRI.... Nolasco: I do? I mean.....I think I should have a MRI Gardy: And you probably be out for....... Nolasco: 2 weeks????? Gardy: 6 weeks Nolasco: I mean 6 weeks Gardy:If you have any questions, talk to Pelfrey, OK Nolasco: gee.....thanks Gardy!
  5. Why is everyone so gun ho on hiring Molitor? He's older than Gardy, and has no managerial experience or credibility. Sure, he was a HOFer, but so was Ted Wiliams, and he was a terrible manager. Give me a young guy, someone who is closer to understanding these new millionaires. Someone like ...... Mienkevich??-the Fort Meyers manager.(one requirement would be he'd have to change his name to Dougie M.)
  6. The pitching coach didn't walk the first batter on a pitch that wasn't even close (and it got worse from there) I'd point the finger at the scout or scouting department that recommended that we sign Nolasco at all-let alone 4 years at 48 mil
  7. If you look at the free agent pitchers the Twins have signed the last couple of years-Pelfrey, Correia, Hughes, and Nolasco-these guys were not kept by their original teams for a reason! You don't see a Hernandez or a Sale or a Kershaw becoming free agents. Ideally, your staff is best if developed by your farm teams and in trades. The 4 pitchers above didn't come to Minnesota because they had a chance to win-they came because the Twins either offered the most money, or were the only team willing to sign them.
  8. I'd love it if Gardy had the balls to send Nolasco to the bullpen for awhile. Send a message to the entire team.
  9. Mr. Pohlad is going to have a hard time selling tickets after the all-star break. Glad I didn't spend good money on this game.......
  10. What channel are the Lynx on?
  11. I had my grand kids here for the last 3 days-didn't see any games, played with them, took them swimming, shot some fireworks, and today was finally looking forward to watching the Twins-yuk!
  12. I think the Twins need to institute a $1000 fine to a pitcher who walks the first batter of an inning!
  13. It appears to me that the organization has a big hole at 3rd base. I'm not sure that Plouffe is the answer, but look what happened when he went down. The Twins did not show any confidence in Romero then, and although I'm excited as everyone when Sano gets here, I don't think he'll be playing there for 10 years (1B or OF, IMHO). No one in New Britian, Fort Meyers, or Cedar Rapids appear to be the answer. Big concern there!
  14. Maybe it's just the way he carries himself, but I wonder if he doesn't need an attitude adjustment? He needs to make better contact, and while the power and potential is terrific, there appears to be a regression in his play. Hopefully, Morales will explain to him that you can make millions in this game, or significantly less outside of baseball!
  15. It's the ol smoke and mirrors routine for Nolasco!
  16. My "opinion" of him is changing......
  17. Hope. Arcia saw that great AB by Parms.....
  18. You're correct, JB-my opinion-my bad....
  19. Fact: 1.) Parmalee is a bench player 2.) Parmalee cannot hit a major league fastball 3.) If Parmalee is getting regular AB's, the Twins' season must be a major disappointment, as players we have been hoping would be part of our future(Arcia, Hicks, etc) have not been producing.
  20. I'd love to have him back for that series in Colorado (if healthy of course). My feeling is that series will set the tone for the 2nd half, even if the Twins are struggling prior to that. He is the key player on our roster, IMHO.
  21. I'm looking forward to tonite, guys. If you have time, could you talk about the differences between AA and AAA? It seems all the hitting prospects are at AA, while the next call-ups for the pitching staff are at AAA. Thanks.
  22. ....didn't bring anyone up from the farm.....
  23. Another night killing the relievers-pretty soon we are going to need a 16 man staff!
  24. I would think Fien would be also
