  1. I really hope they don't count on Paddack again. There is no good history of coming back from 2 TJ surgeries. And he is not that good of a pitcher, one good year in 2019. Can we set the bar a little higher or else you may as well go with the kids.
  2. How much do you want them to spend, what would be the right number for payroll next year. It is easy to say spend more, but how much more.
  3. Bottom line, it is an elimination game, he is not getting anyone out. Rocco was trying to play the matchup game, you can't do that in this situation. Being down by 7 vs 3 at the end of the inning is a huge difference.
  4. You are correct if it is June, but it's not. We were essentially playing a playoff game last night and Rocco gave up. You don't keep a pitcher in after three straight batters reach, it is all hands on deck until you are eliminated.
  5. It would be interesting to know what the rest of the league really thinks of the two. It sounded like Boston interviewed Levine and passed on him. I don't think they have the ability to run a successful major league front office. It has been seven years and we have one playoff series win and have been a sub .500 team for the last 4 years. We should be on an upward trajectory not flat. They are too rigid in the their philosophy and will not admit mistakes and move on when needed. The young players are coming to the majors and are not producing at any sustained level. Where is the player development of the organization. While not every prospect will flourish in the majors, you can't have them all regress. There are some prospects that have been highly thought of by many throughout the league, why aren't they producing at the major leagues. They need to have a plan and I don't see it. Either go with the young guys if you can develop them or move on and bring in quality level starting position players, no more Margot's, Garlicks, Santana, or Farmer's of the world.
  6. None of this will occur if Falvey stays. He has put in place an analytics driven model that says stolen bases have no impact on the game, so don't hold runners on or try to steal. The analytics say HR's are your best chance to win, so teach all your hitters launch angle so they try to pull the ball and hit one out. Ask Martin and Lee as two examples, they both went back to their style of hitting in the minors after not having success with the Twins way. Bunting is also frowned upon because you don't want to give up an out. And where has this model gotten us, we are 6 games under .500 since 2020 with one playoff series win. If ownership doesn't take a serious review of this organization and make changes, that will be a real slap in the face of the fans.
  7. Did any reporter ask Rocco why he left Funderburk in the game when the bases were loaded, was he not trying to win. It was bad enough putting him in, but why leave him in.
  8. Two runs in six innings, it was our hitters who couldn't Pavich. I would have loved for Pablo to go eight, but with our bats he needed to shut them out and even then that might not have been enough.
  9. This has nothing to do with the ownership, this is Rocco in the dugout at the moment giving up on the season. Unless Falvey or Joe are calling him in the dugout.
  10. You still manage to win the game at this point in the season. He should be fired immediately after the game.
  11. I understand, but you still have a chance no matter how small, why leave Funderburke in the game. I have never seen a manager give up like this.
  12. Rocco is waving the white flag.
  13. It's not like we had a $50m payroll. Yes they cut payroll and probably shouldn't have. But we have two of the largest contracts in Twins history and the front office was unable to build anything around that. This front office has not shown they know how to run a major league franchise and it starts with them.
  14. Have you been watching the games, Rocco does not know how to win games.
  15. Everybody wants to keep Santana because he leads the team in RBI's and HR's. But Jeffers who is right behind him you want to get rid of. Royce Lewis has 500 AB's, with an OPS of .830, I think it is premature to say he is not usable. Yes his last month has been disappointing, but give him a position and let him play there every day and get comfortable. I have no idea what to do with Julien, Kiriloff, Miranda, we either have to play them or get starting caliber players in to replace them. Not the Santana's and Margot's of the world. The bar needs to be set higher in terms of expectations and stop this position flexibility and platooning for everyone nonsense.
  16. Can we maybe set the bar a little higher than Farmer, even if is in a reserve role. We fall in love with below average veterans then we wonder why we are a .500 team.
  17. Martin came up thru the minors as a shortstop, not an OF. The problem is they did not play him enough in the OF in the minors even though it became apparent that was his path to the majors.
  18. Actually if you look at the best teams, their closers only pitch in the ninth inning during the regular season.
  19. He was half way there before going back to second.
  20. How did we know they would play the infield in with a runner at third. They do every single time, don't tell me they aren't completely analytics driven. Every decision is decided before the game even starts. And yes this time, it didn't hurt, but it has plenty of times.
  21. Didn't get to third when Martin was in the run down, he gave up pretty early on even trying.
  22. Can someone teach Correa how to run bases, it ultimately didn't matter, but that is two nights in a row he has made a base running error.
  23. This was a bad base running blunder by Correa, there is no excuse from a leader of the team. He wasn't going to score from second on a base hit, so he needed to go only half way.
  24. Are you not including Buxton, Castro and others.
