  1. I stand corrected, a handful of people, but I still don't understand what the concerns are about Kiriloff.
  2. Why is everybody so down on Kiriloff. He actually is one of the few members of this team that actually takes quality at bats, maybe needs to be a little more aggressive. But he doesn't even have 600 plate appearances yet and people think Solano at 35 is going to give better production over the course of the season or even be here next season. Who gave the energy yesterday, Kiriloff and Julien. The veterans are sleep walking, say good bye to Gallo and Kepler now, do you really think we can a playoff series with them.
  3. What about McLain, Steer, Benson, it seems to be working for the Reds. And what about the Orioles who started the process of bringing up their prospects last year. And we do not know if Wallner and Larnach are not good enough. Give them a half season, quit yanking them back and forth. Will their production really be less than Gallo's or Kepler's, I doubt it and they have more upside. Provide some spark to this team. Who were the guys still hustling at the end today, Kiriloff and Julien while Lopez sat on the mound and almost got Kiriloff run over.
  4. Since Gallo's OPS has been in the mid 600's since April, that kind of answers the question, say thank you for April and good luck finding another organization.
  5. Rocco likes to say the players know what it takes to prepare themselves for the game. When you are winning 100 games you can maybe get away with that. But for the last three years we have been a sub .500 team and our fielding has not looked good at all on a regular basis. It is time to give the players a time to be on the field before the game for fielding practice. And also it would be really helpful if we could have our best outfielder play in CF.
  6. We have been a sub .500 team since 2021, not just this year, at some point results have to be better. Also I am not sure we are loaded with high strikeout guys on the roster except for Gallo and Buxton. Most of the new players have strikeout rates higher than their career averages.
  7. Only here on TD is the term "closer" outdated. As many relievers have stated over the years there is a mind set to finishing out the 9th inning, it is more than just who you are pitching too. Duran has that mindset, maybe Jax to a certain degree. But you can't just throw anyone out there in a save situation. If you ever watched Ron Davis try to save games, you know what I am talking about. He was a lights out set up man but just didn't have the closer mentality. This is Rocco's biggest weakness, the game is not played on spreadsheets, it is played on the field.
  8. Give him a chance, he has played 16 games and has 60 plate appearances. We know there will be some good and some not so good moments with younger players. But let him play up here and learn over the course of a season. He was a number 1 pick for a reason. This AAA shuttle when they don't have superior players playing in front of them, see Kepler and Wallner, is getting old. Either go out and get proven front line players to start, and Gallo is not one of those, or give the young guys a chance. Having all these middle of the road veterans at best and treading water is getting tiresome. At least give these young guys a chance and see what you have. If we lose we can at least see some hope for the future or know where the holes are.
  9. Badoo never played with the Twins, Cave was never considered a starter, Hicks we needed to have more patience.
  10. Why is it frustrating for Falvey and Baldelli, it is within their control to change this and play Buxton at least part time in CF. The fans have no control over this decision.
  11. Why is Buxton not ready for CF, we are being told nothing as to his status or why he is not out there. We were told the surgery he had at the end of last season was minor. So is he healed or is there something else, I think the FO owes some explanation. This team was built on position flexibility and rotating the DH, having a full time DH does not allow this. And we have to see Taylor hit every game instead of a Larnach or Julien. Buxton needs to be in the OF at least three or four days a week to make this a better team.
  12. I loved seeing the young guys carrying the team today. The AB by Taylor in the third was awful and that is what we have seen too much of this year. After Farmer was walked on four pitches he swings at the first pitch which was inside. Rocco needs to sit him tomorrow to send a message that the team needs better at bats. The veterans should be leading the way for the kids not the other way around.
  13. That was clearly a swing by Alberto, the umpire had no choice but to call it a strike, it doesn't matter if the batter is hit.
  14. What injury, his knee was surgically repaired back in November. If he is unable to play 4 or 5 days in a row and only DH'ing then he should be on the IL.
  15. There is a simple solution, put him at 3B. There is no way he is not an upgrade over Urshela, he is the one that can play a couple of days a week.
  16. Can we get them to take Falvey as a package deal?
