  1. Nothing has changed in this organization. The only change has been Falvey. The same people who supported him and his philosophies are still there, why would we expect any changes. At least until we hire an experienced baseball executive.
  2. The pitch to Lewis barely hit the corner, the pitch to Kreidler was more over the plate just as low as Lewis's. Just look at Gameday.
  3. That was a great pitch and he has been working on laying off the low outside pitch. He needed to at least try to foul it off. But sometimes you have to give the pitcher credit.
  4. Hey don't we need a CF while Buxton is hurt, might be something to consider.
  5. We saw it earlier in the year, I think it was Detroit and they brought Valdez back out after a rain delay. But now he is a veteran and probably can keep himself ready better than Paredes.
  6. This is what happens when you play musical chairs with the defensive positions. But defense matters or so they say when they bench or move certain players.
  7. Can we get Gray out of there, he almost blew another pop up. And playing Kreidler in CF isn't helping either, he should have called him off.
  8. Two man, Martin and Jackson. Has anyone confirmed if Fedko is even dressed and in the dugout.
  9. He came into the year with barely 100 AB's and .222 batting average and was thinking of retiring. But yet we make him our starting SS, which also created a domino effect of moving two other players off their positions from starting day. Am I ever glad that he is here.
  10. Are we seriously going to play down 2 guys for the whole weekend in NY. At some point make a decision on Buxton, I realize it may be a tough decision if it is a borderline 10 day issue. But we keep hearing he is close and then it becomes a week. We need a full roster. Why is Fedko on this roster with Gray at SS. If the manager doesn't want to play Fedko, then get somebody up here you can utilize for more than an Outman role. This role is not needed on this team. Get Gray off shortstop, why does defense only matter when it comes to certain players, he does not make the defense better which at short you should and he can't hit. He had two grand slams and nothing since, get him off the roster. We need players that can contribute.
  11. What is the short and long term plan for this team. We basically have an interim GM, I think he is that anyway. Can he really set a course of action that will propel us to success going forward, I have my doubts. Nothing has changed in the front office except for Falvey not being here, it is the same people and basically the same philosophy that I can see. Trade Jeffers if you have to but I would wait on Ryan until the offseason. Bring in an experienced baseball leader and review the organization top to bottom to understand your strengths and weaknesses. Then make the necessary moves to put this team on a trajectory towards being a competitive team that is sustainable with whatever model they choose. The Falvey model hasn't worked and we are still following it and it has not worked. I don't want to see trades where we just add more LH corner outfielders for example. I would like to see nothing more than minor moves except for Jeffers, nibble around the edges. This team is a contender based on the standings only, they still have a lot of holes that I don't want to gut the farm system to fill.
  12. One month is not going to change his value. All reports say he will be one of the more sought after free agents if he is made available. Get over his outing on Tuesday, it happens.
  13. I am split on keeping Jeffers because I am not sure there is a viable pathway to resigning him. But I think we are going to miss him more than we realize next year. We do have depth with Diaw and Tait but will they be ready to contribute at any point next year. If they are not, then we need to hope for a short season because I don't think Caratini can hold up to catching for 100 to 120 games. Again this was another head scratcher from Falvey.
  14. For those advocating for a trade for Jeffers do you really want to count on Caratini as your full time catcher for the next year and half. Yes he had a great June, but he also struggled when Jeffers first got hurt. He has not started more than 87 games at catcher and that was 5 years. And we will turn 34 next mid season, catchers do not age well. It may be a foregone conclusion that Jeffers will not be here, but I am fearful that Caratini could very well turn into another Vasquez at the plate the more exposure he gets. I would prefer to keep Jeffers if possible.
  15. And I according to Falvey when he was promoted he was very involved in trade talks and other negotiations for a few years prior to 2024. It sounded like he was the GM prior to Levine leaving just not officially.
  16. I think Zoll had more input than you are giving him credit for. When Levine left, and Falvey promoted Zoll he said that Zoll had been very involved in a lot of trade talks and other transactions. Reading between the lines I think that was why Levine left. That doesn't make him qualified but he was the number 2 man in the baseball operations, it wasn't like he was just punching a clock.
  17. I think it was Falvey's call to gut the bullpen because he was a genius who could rebuild it on the fly. And how did that work out for him.
