  1. The phones are ringing off the hook at 1 Twins Way, asking who are you selling.
  2. There are 9 outfielders on the 40 man roster and that doesn't include Keaschall, Jenkins or Rosario. They need to clear some guys for playing time both here and St. Paul. That is going to make it hard for Roden to get playing time and he hasn't really done anything to force issue when getting called up. My fear they are going to platoon Roden and Keaschall which to me would be a very bad move, hopefully we will know more about that with tomorrow night's lineup. Roden just added to the logjam of outfielders that they need to figure out who can play and who can't.
  3. And in 178 AB's he has an average of .191 and OPS of .544. These are similar to the numbers he posted last year for Toronto in the first month of the season when he got regular playing time. Time is running out for him to make an impact and that easily could have been foreseen. He was not a young prospect when we got him and he was redundant in a position already full with similar players. That was why this trade never made sense.
  4. There will be zero interest in Kreidler, this is a piece you can pick up on the waiver wire, you don't waste an asset on. Trying to compare him to Castro is not even in the same ballpark. You do realize he had a .133 batting average coming into the season, no glove overcomes that unless you are Derek Falvey.
  5. Is this a Falvey burner account, sounds like him, sit on your hands because we don't know what the future or market will be.
  6. I don't think Zoll is up to the task and I think he is tied to Falvey's way. He has been a part of the personnel decisions for the last 5 years, those are Falvey's words not mine. And he feels like he is a lame duck in the position, so I am hoping they don't try to make any big moves. This is not the year for that.
  7. One month of production is going to make everyone forget his history. Casto had two and a half years of production. This is no different than everyone was saying Arcia would be a trade chip after his first couple of games up here. And how many teams claimed him when he was on waivers. And Kreidler has cooled off as he has played more. He is a decent utility player but he is not a needle mover.
  8. First, Buxton isn't going anywhere, it's bad enough when national beat writers keep beating this drum. But to fans and local writers, it has been pretty clear he wants to be here, why even bring up his name. As for what I would do, you need to move 3 or 4 outfielders for whatever you can get. Wallner is one that can go fairly easily even though he won't get much in return if anything. We have 9 outfielders on the 40 man roster and this doesn't include Jenkins, Keaschall or Rosario. They need to clear playing time in Minneapolis and St. Paul or it will start having an impact on player development. Keep Lewis, he has started to hit and I don't think you trade somebody with the upside he still has and try to tap into that.
  9. Your comment made it sound like someone that was on the way and would be a core piece, so we might have a different definition of core. He is someone to me that if he fights his way into the picture and can produce fine, but he hasn't that to date unlike the others you mentioned. And he is not really young anymore, he will be 27 before next season begins, that is starting to creep past prospect stage at that age.
  10. How is Roden a core piece, what has he done that says he is someone to build around, what is the fascination with him. He may be a fourth outfielder, but a core piece, I don't think so.
  11. You can play everybody 4 to 5 days by including the DH slot. Bell doesn't need to be in the lineup every day. This is what a good manager would do.
  12. A better idea is to get the best 26 players on your roster and I see a few players that Jenkins probably should be playing over. Everything else is just noise.
  13. How is he performing worse than Roden in St. Paul, OPS is within .50 points of Roden. A little higher batting average, less home runs but more doubles. That is if all you want to look at are stats. But put the spreadsheets away and look at the players, who is the better player. And I believe there is a consensus that Jenkins is the better player with a lot more upside potential.
  14. Why would Roden play the other corner spot over Keaschall who has earned it. Roden has not hit in the majors and the eye test says he is average on defense. Roden may be caught up in a numbers game because he has not been able to show much in his short time in the majors with either us or Toronto. But I am not sure where he gets playing time without moving someone either via trade or moving someone to the bench. And neither Larnach or Keaschall should be benched for him.
  15. Send Roden down and bring up Jenkins. Martin has more flexibility than Roden and he shouldn't be holding Jenkins back.
  16. Is Jenkins a better option than Roden if Larnach is traded. I have seen this type of comment before when we talk about players in St. Paul. His stats, pick whatever stat you want isn't where it should be, they shouldn't be up here. People were saying all Lewis is doing is hitting home runs and he shouldn't be brought back. Or Arcia OPS shows he needs to be up here. My point, is he ready to play up here if he is the best option then he should be brought up. So he hits more doubles than HR's when he first comes up, what is wrong with that. I don't think Roden is a long term answer as a starter and I want to see Jenkins begin his learning experience now rather than 2028. Because I am concerned if there is a shortened season next year that they would use that as an excuse not to bring him up.
  17. I don't want to see top prospects traded for this year. They need to clear some space from the outfield for both Minnesota and St. Paul. They have nine outfielders on the 40 man roster and this doesn't include Keaschall, Jenkins or Rosario. You just can't get enough AB's for everyone with this many on the roster and some of the guys in St. Paul do need AB's to continue to develop. They have to balance the roster out. And I am not convinced that our pitching is that strong in the minors.
  18. Milwaukee has a payroll of around $133m which is 22nd in the league and yet somehow they have the leagues best record. Yes the Twins are not that high, but that is basically one or two more players, do you really think we would be competing for the best record. It is not all about money, Falvey has left this organization in a bad spot and it is not all on ownership other than they should have fired him two years ago.
  19. Gray has no value, they did the right thing by sending him down but you would probably need to send a top prospect to get a team to take him. If Larnach is traded, Jenkins needs to be called up, Roden is not the answer.
  20. Just saw on Twitter that Go has been sent to St. Paul, no corresponding move yet.
  21. None of those moves excite me, it would probably be Rashi because he is one of their latest reclamation projects.
  22. I realize change can take time, but I am not seeing much change. They moved people around, that quite honestly could have been done at the end of last season. They are still very platoon heavy, Shelton seems to push back a little more than Rocco. But the playing time of Gray is exhibit 1. I am still not convinced that it won't be more rearranging of the chairs on the Titanic than any meaningful changes without a change in leadership. And I am talking about every aspect of the baseball operations from player development, training, to roster construction and everything in between. Most of the decision makers in the front office were brought in Falvey and obviously they believe in what they were doing. And it is human nature to struggle with looking at things objectively in this situation.
  23. They have no starters in St. Paul, they are all bulk guys, the same as Rojas and Paredes so not sure if that is a move that needs to be made.
