  1. I would have liked to have McKay. He was my personal favorite. But, the guy they took might be good. I'm not holding the current management up against our club's recent track record. I'm willing to give them a chance and see how things work out. The thing I wanted most is change at the top and I got it. So, rather than nitpick every move, I'm willing to let things play out.
  2. McKay. workhorse poised accurate calm nice consistent delivery proven himself at a high level of competition maturity sweet swing Pick him.
  3. Pressley is an example of why Greene's high school heater does not impress me. Heat is simply not enough.
  4. I would take one of the top two college pitchers over a high school "thrower." Not even close in my mind. High 90's guys are neat. Pitchers win ball games.
  5. Things beyond Gibson's control....the ability to not get pitches crushed.
  6. Upon further review, it's only a potato chip.
  7. Your restraint level is most commendable sir.
  8. I go with McKay. Make him a pitcher only. He and Green have equal chances of making the bigs. Tiebreakers for me are him being a lefty, a smooth looking delivery and his control of more than 1 pitch.
  9. I contend that Buxton's long swing will not translate to the majors. He needs to become a different type of hitter to make the next step. More of a level direct cut instead of a long armed swoosh. I hope he does it before his other tools diminish. I agree with the definition of insanity post above regarding Gibson. Some of us stated a couple weeks back that we didn't need 2-4 more starts to prove anything. Yet, here we are.
  10. Maybe we can let our pitchers hit and DH for Buxton. Kidding.
  11. I understand and respect your opinions. I would personally handle it differently.
  12. You cant only build your pen out of failed starters and retreads. You have to throw some assets directly at the pen from your system and actively try to build it up just as you do your starting rotation. As for his pitch mix, to me it profiles more as a reliever. Mariano Rivera became a legend basically using slight variations of 1 pitch. Duffey's hook is nasty when served in small quantities. Keep him in the pen.
  13. He has found success in the pen. Why mess with that? Leave him there. We need solid relievers. Our pen has been lousey in recent years.
  14. I was not implying anything about questioning his age. What I was meaning(and didn't say very well) is that he has maybe physically matured a little ahead of kids his same age. As same age players catch up he may come back to the pack a little with his results in the coming years. Having said that, he does seem impressive.
  15. I see a kid that became physically mature sooner than other kids his age. So, he is essentially at an advantage vs his current competition. That makes me skeptical. In the picture he looks like a 20 year old throwing to a 12 year old.
  16. It was great to see a quality catcher show the impact a good catcher can have on a game.
  17. What uniforms are the Twins wearing for the opener?
  18. I like what I am hearing from new management. They sound good decision makers and management team builders. I'm optimistic.
  19. I can certainly understand these feelings. For me, if we still had the same GM, I would lean in this direction too. But, since we don't, I feel a bit more inclined to let them settle in for a bit. They have been setting up a new culture, establishing new roles and lines of communication and things like that. I feel they are deserving of some patience. Even if only for a little while. I get what you are saying though too.
  20. The new management has not even had a chance to be around these players all that long. Or, see them in regular season games. My take on it is that they want to witness these guys and study them, along with a few guys they maybe had been familiar with around the league back in their Cleveland or Texas days. A month or so from now I imagine things will be adjusted according to what they witness. I don't think that a rush to judgment is in order just yet. Many have said preseason stats don't matter. Let's give them a chance to evaluate these players in games that do matter before evaluating how they shuffle the deck.
  21. I'm bullish on Granite. I would love to see him as a 4th of. But not in the typical sense. I mean competing for playing time and pushing the other 3.
