  3. How does that work? Do they have to tell the team who they want them to pick as they make the trade? I suppose i can look this up...
  4. I await the trade package that will bring them Muad'Dib... The worm sign in Comiskey... er., Guaranteed rate field shall serve notice to the guilds and factions.
  5. How come? Still, i assume there is some variance in their post draft responses, even if they do tend to be favorable?
  6. I am still looking for the actual GIFP definition, as i presume it is looser than 2 force outs. I looked through the 2023 rules pdf on the mlb website and didn't find a definition of GIDP. Forced double plays and reverse forced double plays it distinguishes between, but no GIDP. It does however define a double play, and it does define a ground ball, both of which seem to apply to the Vazquez play in question. In the box score, Vazquez was not credited with a GIDP, which seems fine because he coulda stayed at first and avoided said double play with Lee safe at home. The stricture that RBIs are not credited on a GIDP is prescriptive scoring rule, and at least partially justified by the assumption they could have gotten the runner at home if they wanted to. Said assumption is not necessarily always true. As an aside there is the practice of getting caught off base to allow a runner on 3rd to score. Doesn't that merit some recognition? Now i want to see someone hitting into a triple play deserve an RBI out of spite (who cares what they are credited with...)
  7. I suppose i should keep reading too... Well... Welcome to the allstar break! And then Joe Mauer gets inducted into the Hall of Fame, right.
  8. What, never? We saw* one a week or so ago, didn't we? The one with runners at the corners, Got the force at second, throw home, but Lee scored as catcher dropped the ball, then throw to first caught Vazquez too far off for the double play. Pretty sure they awarded an RBI on that GIDP. *saw--- well, i read about it afterwards...and i suppose i can't speak for others, so maybe we should have an asterisk as well Er... PS:
  9. There was an ad for hall of fame thingy and its' next weekend. Must be who is on third.
  10. Would stop signs or yields help with the cogestion?
  11. What was that? Is Joe in the hall of fame? (or is that later this summer?)
  12. And i'm actually curious... Wouldn't it be easier to talk about it if no pants were involved? At least there would be fewer questions, perhaps..
  13. In absence of lineups on mlb site, i like the matchups. "Nobody knows anybody. Not that well..." When they say first time through the order, they mean it.
  14. 7th inning stretch may well come after midnight for us easterners, so not sure if that helps... Any other suggestions?
  15. You think those innings will each be long enough for food excursions? Which team will be batting around? Or do i want to know? Otherwise, i'm amenable to this plan. Food is good.
  16. I think i'm also going out for food first...
  17. Giants: 1. SolerDH (R) 2. Wade Jr.1B (L) 3. RamosCF (R) 4. Bailey C (S) 5. Chapman, M 3B (R) 6. Conforto LF (L) 7. Estrada 2B (R) 8. Yastrzemski RF (L) 9. Wisely SS (L)
  18. Many thanks! It is always a little disorienting to read complaints about a lineup that (at least for me) has not been posted. Now if only there were an opponent lineup, we could opine how we let Lamonte Wade Jr. get away...
