  1. Those starts would be @ St. Louis and @ Anaheim. If Romero can pitch 5+ innings while giving the team a chance to win in both of those games, that would hopefully be enough to earn him starts for the foreseeable future.
  2. Umm ... They've won two of their last thirteen
  3. How I hope it works: To answer your question: Never. If Lynn can't figure it out against Chicago, either Hughes or Lynn "develops an ailment" and the other gets the mop up job. Gonsalves or Slegers gets an opportunity to join the rotation. How I'm afraid it will work: Lynn won't figure it out against Chicago, so they'll flip Hughes and Lynn. Hughes will get another start. Then Lynn will get another start after a Hughes failure. Barring injury, Gonsalves or Slegers won't get an opportunity until sometime in June unless there is a double-header need.
  4. Yeah, make sure you slapped him hard enough
  5. Must just be the car ... The clown (my boss) is sitting in the Delta section.
  6. Was waiting for that double play. He got it when he really needed it. I'm guessing that's it. Hope the pen can hold one together.
  7. Romero's stuff looks great. He got a little wild from the slide step though. Castro might have to play goalie a little today. I hope he can get a quick inning and not push the pitch count through the roof early. He's gotta be on a limit. I wonder if Hughes will get the middle of this game.
  8. I think they're more like "Travelers" than the "Magnificent Seven" ... Buxton and Sano are equivalent to whichever traveler is on an operating table in any given episode, Polanco is akin to the heroin addict, and Rosario is the super talent forced to operate in the corners of a mind with severe cognitive limitations.
  9. I just added him to my fantasy team, so I apologize in advance for the impending DOOM!
  10. I second the Gonsalves nod. I bet if they had the Twins official scorer, at least one of those errors would have been ruled a hit (didn't see the errors, but the Twins defenders have been getting bailed out on daily basis)
  11. Duke really looked the part that inning.
  12. I'd rather have normalized BABIP LaMonte Wade with his zone control and > Grossman defense. .370 BABIP Gordon with his 3.3% walk rate and < Adrianza defense won't do as much to move the needle.
  13. Watching them go 0/6 on double play chances Sunday was very frustrating. Couple that with Dozier in slo-mo on a couple rollers to the right side, and it just got worse. I know a couple of the DP chances were on slower choppers, but the plays didn't look fluid either. If half of those 8 plays get made, that would have been a completely different ballgame. I've been one of the biggest Dozier-for-life supporters, but I sure wish he'd play with a bit more hop in his step. If he's actually slowing down, then maybe, with reference to the article title, I was just possibly that wrong.
  14. Well, at least Falvine didn't give him a 3-4 year deal ... I guess they got that on Ryan
  15. Good deal. No reason not to at this point. Even if they cap him at 80-85 pitches for awhile, it's a shot at some real production. There might be some 4 inning outings due to walks being higher out of the gate, but I bet he also makes some batters look silly on some swing and misses. Those would still be longer outings than what Hughes has given.
  16. Let's see: Lynn and Hughes scheduled to start games 1 and 3. Should be a nice chance for the Jays to make up some ground in the East.
  17. Duffy must have a GF in Rochester that he wants to get back to
  18. I suppose if you dig deep enough into every back alley dumpster you'll find something with an unpolished silver lining ... Just seems like more of the same to me
  19. There have been a ton of "hits" that looked more like errors this whole season. It's like the official scorers have been instructed to help pad both hitter and fielder stats.
  20. Magill's got a case of the Hildenbergers ... Make sure he let's all the other guy's runners score
