  1. Does anyone know anything of substance regarding where Rosario is?
  2. Does anyone have that map showing the baseball territory for each team?
  3. I blogged about Yangervis last year, comparing the potential of he and Dozier. Dozier seems to have come through, but not keeping Solarte around was dumb. I still think he could be a good semi-regular utility player.
  4. While I agree, it also looks like 40 mph wind gusts or so.
  5. Haha, yep! I was going to post this too.
  6. Vavra with two terrible green lights in two games.
  7. Colabello coming up with a big hit in 3 . . . 2 . . . 1 . . .
  8. This is where Herrmann instead of Bartlett makes sense. Pinto could have been used in each of these games to pinch hit, but, given Gardenhire's terror of only having one catcher, it is rarely going to happen. It isn't like Herrmann would be any worse than Bartlett in CF for at most one game if something were to happen mid-game to Hicks.
  9. I think a good old platoon of Kubel and Colabello might work out fairly well. You might have added Duensing here, too.
  10. There's plenty of Twins material for a Twins topics only standup act. Different medium altogether, though Gleeman and Geek should actually try such a standup act.
  11. Why this speculation about Rosario? If this is more than marijuana, fair enough, but I don't understand these last two comments. Anyway, I see these as pretty proper assessments, for a change. I do wonder how Levi Michael is going to do this year.
  12. Florimon is going to play out of the gates, right? So now there is no excuse to have Bartlett instead of Herrmann on this roster. A couple of things will make this clear: 1. If Jason Kubel is DHing EVER against LH pitching (instead of Pinto) 2. If Bartlett starts looking bad in the OF and the Twins have to keep both Willingham and Arcia in the corners late in games.
  13. He never should have been Twins Minor League Pitcher of the Year.
  14. Yes, it was a fantastic idea and provided the best news from spring training, by far.
  15. The problem is that I think Gardenhire's desire to have lineups pretty much set in stone is precisely the opposite of what needs to happen with this current group. Joe Mauer should be batting second and I see no way of getting around that. Currently, this means Dozier should be leading off, even though this is not at all ideal. Against righties, I would probably go Dozier-Mauer-Arcia (yes)-Willingham-Kubel-Plouffe-Hicks-Suzuki/Pinto-Florimon, and against lefties Dozier-Mauer-Willingham-Plouffe-Hicks-Arcia-Colabello-Pinto-Florimon I think Dozier's bat will improve a bit, and that bit will be in average and thus OBP, so that isn't too terrible. Arcia is huge here. If he is struggling, the lineup could get weird.
  16. He is an obvious DH. This is actually blatantly obvious.
  17. Pedro Florimon is clearly and demonstrably better than Jason Bartlett at all things SS. So . . . please.
  18. Aren't Perkins, Pelfrey, and Suzuki known "character" "leaders" anyway?
  19. I am growing quite tired of "attitude" and "clubhouse leadership" and yada yada yada. Overhyped rubbish. WINNING solves the problem. Bartlett and likely Kubel run counter to that goal. Also, it would seem that Brian Dozier might be one of those players clearly able to step up and be a leader.
  20. I view every roster position as important (not equally important, obviously, but still). I am assuming that this is a Florimon thing and that the Twins are also going to get some kind of Clete Thomasesque player (Presley was the best version of that . . . ) soon enough to fill-in as the actual backup OF. This *must* just be a Florimon to DL situation coming. OF defense late in games with Willingham and Arcia in the corners is quite funny though. Free James Beresford!
  21. what. Have. You. Done. With. The. Real. Thrylos?
  22. Presley is a good enough 4th OF. Also, I honestly, without a doubt, would prefer to give James Beresford a taste of being on the roster instead of Bartlett if this is a matter of Florimon being out. I currently find it odd that the Twins have now sent Parmelee, Herrmann, and Mastroianni down, and waived Presley and lost him. Those four are good defensive replacements at the corners or at all three positions in the latter two cases. Bartlett is obviously not.
