  1. I like Niko a lot. He is likely going to be successful in the big leagues.
  2. Best article I have seen in a very long time around here.
  3. This makes up for the drafting of Kohl Stewart, who is not a good pitcher.
  4. I would like for the first six of these guys to all go.
  5. I am surprised Curtiss isn't up in AAA by now. And they have to bump Palacios up to FTM soon. I imagine these things will happen after the draft.
  6. Am I really that insane in thinking they should have made room on this roster for all 8 of the top 8?
  7. I would definitely add all five of those hitters. I agree about Centeno. I no longer care about Santana, and I have doubts about Grossman. Plouffe's time should have come a long time ago--it is incomprehensible to me.
  8. Tonkin and Wimmers are easy choices, and flip a coin between Boshers and O'Rourke. Also, in no way would I waste any time with Kintzler. That is a disaster waiting to happen and there are going to be a lot of internal options in the minors to sort through this year. Romero, Jorge, Baxendale, and Wheeler or Jones could be added here.
  9. I find it wildly comical to consider a guy who posted a 5.8 K/9 rate last year for the closer role going forward. Like . . . good lord.
  10. In no way, shape, or form would I give that role to Kintzler. That is a disaster waiting to happen. I like the possibility of Chargois eventually competing with Burdi, but for now I would say that if Trevor May is not in the rotation, then he should be closing.
  11. I mean . . . I guess he has done what we like to see from younger players . . . he first came up and hit pretty well, then struggled in his time with the Twins in 2015, and then now has bounced back. He seems to have figured some things out, at least power production--doubles and homers--to make the strikeouts palatable.
  12. Mid-2014 I had Vargas at no. 8. And that was a loaded prospect group. The bat is for real. The ability to take walks is going to be huge. His ISOD of .103 in the majors is a great thing to see. It was .128 in Rochester in 2016, so I think there is something to it. Vargas is a career .849 OPS hitter in the minors and he returned to the Twins this year with an .833 OPS. A .725 OPS for 2017 seems quite pessimistic.
  13. I like Vargas more than Park. And, of course, Vargas has been considered a prospect before. Not a top prospect, but he did hover around the top ten in 2014, I think. He mashes lefties and is an overall good hitter with power from both sides. This is absolutely a guy I want on the team.
  14. Fantastic job, here! Excellent detail on these players. Chatty's 2017 OF of English-Granite-Corcino will be something to watch in the field.
  15. Also, Wade has strangely really smacked lefties in both his professional seasons. That coupled with that BB/K rate makes me put him in my top 10. Compare that to Rosario.
  16. Hopefully not fast-tracked. My only issue with his progress is that he didn't get moved to Cedar Rapids quickly in 2015, as maybe he would have 250-275 A+ plate appearances now. All things being equal, I would prefer a 2017 where he ends the second 1/2 or 2/3 of the season in AA. Then something similar in 2018 in AAA. I prefer moving people up quicker and then having them spend time in both AA and AAA.
  17. I didn't mean to get rid of Polanco, rather, it would be Dozier at that point. Polanco would then be moved to second. I have better expectations for both Vielma and Gordon, though.
