  1. Am I missing something about Gallo? I mean he will move to first or DH, but is there something else here? The guy is very, very good.
  2. This helps with understanding why he was re-signed. There has to be the hope that by 2015 he is not going to be in the starting rotation (Nolasco, Hughes, Gibson, Meyer, May).
  3. Buxton, Mauer, Sano, Arcia, Hicks, Rosario, Dozier 1-7 opening day 2015.
  4. Suzuki literally being the opening day starter is not a big deal . . . because isn't it the White Sox? Do they even have a RH starter???? Pinto can potentially be waiting a bit in AAA. Suzuki getting more than 200 PAs in 2014 . . . yeah, that's bad.
  5. Pinto soon takes the place of Suzuki and Herrmann (most of the time). There you go.
  6. I think lineups: vs. RH Dozier 2B Mauer 1B Arcia RF Kubel DH Willingham LF Hicks CF Plouffe 3B Herrmann C Florimon SS and vs. LH Dozier 2B Hicks CF Mauer 1B Willingham LF Plouffe 3B Arcia RF Colabello DH Suzuki C Florimon SS Should not be out of the question and should be considered a 5+ win improvement alone over last year. And Sano can easily be inserted eventually. The pitching staff is also probably at an 8+ win improvement over last year. There is no reason this team doesn't get to 80 wins in 2014. And it's one more year of development for prospects who will be making the leap in 2015.
  7. I would not trade Hicks at all. Let him become the player he can be this season. A Hicks-Buxton outfield is ridiculous defensively.
  8. Thanks! I think I would put the Astros just ahead as well, and then the Cubs, Red Sox, Pirates, and Royals right behind the Twins.
  9. Sano's career line now is .273/.373/.567 (.940). I would not be all that surprised if that was his MLB average line from 2015 on . . . for 10 years or so. I think he should start in AAA (NOT AA and not MLB) to see some more different pitching and then he can make his move in to MLB in June (with Meyer, if they are smart about his innings in AAA).
  10. That was a good find, Seth.
  11. I am just wondering because there are some claims being tossed around here about "academics" and I want to know if this woman has a degree, what it is, and where it's from.
  12. Do we even know who this person is or if she has any degree?
  13. I knew that was too easy. I . . . guess Plouffe instead of Parm . . .
  14. LH/RH much? vs. LH Hicks CF Dozier 2B Mauer 1B Willingham DH Plouffe 3b Arcia RF Presley LF Suzuki C (Pinto in AAA) Florimon SS vs. RH . . . it gets trickier . . . you would have Hicks, Presley, Arcia, Parmelee, and Kubel as lefties in the OF/DH. And yet Willingham. The Twins will likely not have Hicks involved, I guess. I would probably go with: vs. RH Dozier 2B Mauer 1B Arcia RF Kubel DH Willingham LF Parmelee RF Hicks CF Herrmann C Florimon SS
  15. This concludes the countdown part of this list. I will provide a summary discussion with the full list in the final installment of this prospect countdown. 10. Max Kepler, LH, LF/1B, DOB: 2-12-93 2013 statistics: 263 plate appearances, .237/.312/.424 (.736/.778), 11 doubles, 3 triples, 9 homers, 24 walks,, 43 strikeouts, 2 stolen bases, and zero times caught stealing. Kepler is not ready for MLB right now, but he will be a fast-riser in the system. 9. Stephen Gonsalves 8. Jorge Polanco 7. Josmil Pinto 6. Jose Berrios 5. Eddie Rosario 4. Kohl Stewart 3. Alex Meyer 2. Miguel Sano 1. Byron Buxton
  16. I love Hicks' arm in RF, but I also like his range for LF. Especially given this claim about Arcia being more comfortable, and better, in RF. I don't know.
  17. There is no reason to keep him in Cedar Rapids. They put him in the AFL, for crying out loud. He will be in Fort Myers.
  18. Good post! I *love* the burnt popcorn label. Perfect.
  19. Good stuff! I like Montanez's potential. Not a fan of that Hoosier nonsense though!
  20. I know. And then they could get rid of the stupid nickname. Seeing some prospects in Victory Field on a regular basis would be very nice.
  21. I have no problem keeping Kepler around 10 on the Twins list of prospects right now. He needs a full season to get going. He wasn't that ridiculous in the AFL. He did better at the plate than players like Schoop and Moran.
  22. I agree that Polanco should be there instead of Thorpe, but it sounds like Thorpe might be the eight guy. Anyway, I think Polanco and Kepler would be in the top 150. It isn't hard to see the Twins having 8 again going into 2015, even after Sano, Meyer, and Pinto graduate. Gonsalves, Polanco, Kepler, Felix, Harrison, and Walker are candidates (with breakout seasons from a couple of them).
  23. Whoa! Is the Hicks dropping switch-hitting thing finally put to rest then!? Yay!
