  1. I’m not going to just sweep out the garage, I’m going to do the entire driveway after this one!
  2. And likely for the second time this year, the Twins will get a guy coming off a no-hitter, since he’ll probably get one of next weekend’s games.
  3. I heard the same. But to be fair, Marwin got thrown out at second last night doing the same thing.
  4. Yeah, but when a runner gets on, he’s never willing to sacrifice.
  5. Question, since I’m nearly always listening rather than watching. People make a big deal about Javier Baez making a very quick tag. Does Sano seem to have a quicker than average tag as well? It sure seems like it in terms of his making some of these plays. The bit I’ve seen of Sano, I think he’s got the potential to be a pretty good first baseman. It seems like his mistakes (error or not) have largely been a function of things not being instinctual yet, which will come with more reps.
  6. If Sano asks for an appeal at first, you might as well go ahead and assume he’s out. It doesn’t seem like he’s been wrong yet.
  7. Per Jeff Passan report, NLDS at Houston and Texas, with NLCS at Texas. ALDS at San Diego and Dodger Stadium, with ALCS at Petco. World Series shows off Globe Life in Texas.
  8. What a coincidence, Josh. It's been Raining all weekend in Indiana, too!
  9. In case I haven’t welcomed him yet, Welcome to the Team, Ryan.
  10. I “liked” your post. Now I’m going to quote it so I can give it another “like.”
  11. Uh, Welcome Back, Bomba Squad?
  12. Uh, Welcome Back, Marwin?
  13. I thought with the meatloaf you were trying to suggest that “two out of three ain’t bad.” That may be true in ordinary circumstances, but I want more chicken. (That said — that looks incredible. Regular meatloaf recipe? Hot fire or low and slow? About how long?)
  14. Right — my point is that there isn’t really that much to gain by putting someone on the 45-man compared to the 10-day at this point in the season.
  15. And putting Rooker on the 45-day IL would only gain them two weeks of wiggle room, right? They'd have to take him back off near the beginning of the off season.
  16. While possible to go with no off days (and that would play to the Twins' advantage with their depth, I would argue), with the primary revenue for owners coming from broadcast revenue, I would agree that they will schedule off days in order to maximize the number of prime time games they can broadcast. I do hope they skip the stupid off day between games 4 and 5 in a five-game series. Additionally, if they are in a bubble using only a couple of stadiums, they'll have to allow for plenty of transition time between games, which makes it a little harder to stack games. That's part of the argument for having the first round at local sites.
  17. One can parse this is in many ways, but argument can be made that the second game is more important in a three-game series than the first. Sure, you want to get off to a good start by winning the first game, but in the second game, you're either trying to stave off elimination or finish off the series. That would be a reason to go with Berrios, followed by Maeda.
  18. Regarding Rooker getting hit — with Kepler expected back tomorrow, likely either Rooker or Wade were going to get sent down. This probably makes the decision.
  19. I THINK there’s chicken under there somewhere.
  20. And one more — it’s certainly possible they’ll want to use him on back-to-back nights come the playoffs, and it doesn’t hurt to give him a shot or two at that during the regular season.
  21. 70charger, on 12 Sept 2020 - 10:52 PM, said: I'm gonna say that I called this too. Fight me. Okay, I at least get partial credit, don’t I?
  22. Let’s see. Home plate ump moves to third tomorrow. That will give him plenty of time to apologize to Donaldson after he’s had a chance to look at the film.
  23. Gotta say, Wes Johnson does his part on keeping the game moving when he visits the mound. His dugout-to-the-mound pace has to be among the quickest in baseball.
  24. I’m also cool with Wisler getting an inning and a third. Now, let’s have Clippard get a quick two outs, the offense get another two runs, and Clippard gets the eighth. Not that I get too particular with my requests...
