  1. I'm not surprised that the fans are booing. I would be doing the same thing if I was in the stadium today. This game is UGLY!!!
  2. Yep, I'd rather have Arcia than Park as DH right now...
  3. What a waste the signing of Park was!!!
  4. I just looked it up, 11 out of Park's 15 ABs that have ended in an out have been strikeouts.
  5. I'm calling it - a K for Park here.
  6. Has Park put a single pitch in play this year or has he basically struck out in every at bat?
  7. It is very concerning. Watching today's game it seems like most of the Twins hitters, even the experienced ones like Dozier, are completely lost at the plate.
  8. Wouldn't they want Park to face those guys, instead of Arcia? Plus, the Twins seem to have Chris Sale's number. They rocked him last year. He dominated the rest of the league & struggled mightily against the Twins.
  9. What would happen if the Twins decide to DFA him & he is claimed? What would happen if they DFA him & he refuses to go to AAA?
  10. Back when Brad Swanson was still writing about the Twins he campaigned for Escobar to get 400 ABs in a season. I'm glad that the Twins did give Escobar a chance. He's becoming one of my favorite players too. I wonder if Molitor will consider batting him higher up in the lineup. With such a high OPS it seems like he might do well higher in the lineup with Buxton in the 9 spot.
  11. May or Meyer? I think May should get to start again, Meyer I'm not so sure about.
  12. Does anyone know why the Twins wouldn't look at putting Plouffe in the OF instead of Sano?
  13. Wow! I had no idea that the Twins were so incompetent as an organization. Do other teams have coaching staffs that are this incompetent with regard to player development? This is just shocking to read!
  14. Could the Twins sign Escobar to a multi-year team friendly deal? Offer him enough that he's willing to take the guaranteed money versus the uncertainty of arbitration, while not over paying? That could then make him more attractive as a trade target.
  15. I wonder if the Twins could get a big return for Escobar in a trade. Perhaps he'd be a good candidate to flip at the deadline this coming year for a top starting pitcher, especially if Polanco or Danny Santana makes enough progress to be an acceptable replacement for Escobar. Brad of Kevin Slowey Was Framed predicted Escobar's performance at the start of the 2014 season.
  16. I don't understand why the Twins would ask Sano to play OF & learn a new position instead of asking Plouffe to learn to play OF...
  17. Solution: Mauer to C, Plouffe/Sano 1B/3B, Arcia/Vargas/Pinto DH, Rosario/Hicks/Kepler/Buxton OF. Suzuki can play against LHP to let Mauer rest. Arcia can potentially play a few games in the OF on a day that you want more than 1 of the 3 options listed under DH in the lineup. Vargas can also play 1B on days that Sano or Plouffe have off. I would focus on helping Sano improve his defense at 3B. I'd think that team defense would be better with Sano at 3B and Plouffe in the OF versus Sano in the OF & Plouffe at 3B.
  18. This shows why Ryan should be fired. He appears to have no understanding of math or statistics. It's so frustrating to see the way he runs the team. The Twins need a forward thinking GM, not someone who is stuck in the past... Signing AJ would be more of being stuck in the past...
  19. I like this idea, but I think the Twins are too old-fashioned to consider doing something like this. But, I agree with you that they should.
  20. Mauer is so bad now that protecting his health shouldn't be a concern. If he gets hurt then the Twins can play someone better. When he's healthy he's taking up space in the lineup & not producing. At least Mauer showed some defensive skills when he played catcher.
  21. Why won't the Twins do this?!? They had sent him to the bullpen at the start of the year, until injuries caused him to end up back in the rotation. Cueto has been awful of late & the Twins have figured out Chris Sale. I don't see any reason why the Twins wouldn't have loved the chance to jump all over the struggling Cueto. Also, why should they be upset about facing lefties? The Twins are 4 games over .500 on the season against LHP & exactly at .500 against RHP. They should be glad to face 2 lefties in the White Sox series.
  22. Brings me back to the days of the Soul Patrol outfield... It's so great to see good outfield defense!
