  1. How bout Vegas then? At the same time the league could reinstate Pete Rose
  2. Nashville would be a good option along with Charlotte, Raleigh, even Oklahoma City. They need more teams in the south and central US. Move the Rays out of Florida and if the A's can't secure a new stadium move them as well.
  3. patience....help is on the way (AA)....lol
  4. I absolutely don't agree with your opinion, but that's fine. He's what 41 / 42? So he's a young guy, but he's also a statistician whereas Molitor is old school. Gordon Jones had a good piece on him earlier this year and described him as confident, organized and having the confidence of the players. He's actual quite hands on as the outfield coach. Hardly a shy computer geek hiding behind his computer screen upstairs or in the corner of the dugout. He's functioned as a scout for the Diamondbacks for three years, an assistant coach for the University of Arizona and special assistant in scouting and player development for the Dodgers from 2014-2017. His father coached college baseball for 30+ years. Hardly a nerd. I think that along with Rowson and Smith he has been part of the reason for the turn around. http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2017/05/26/twins-outfield-coach-jeff-pickler/
  5. I look at it a bit differently. Molitor is a Jim Pohlad favorite. Before this season he told the FO that they would honor Molitor deal through the conclusion of his contract, which makes me think they were already looking to replace him (why Jeff Pickler was brought in). I am not under the impression that he was Falvey's or Levine's first choice, but they were stuck between a rock and a hard place. Apparently the players like him (Molitor), ownership loves him and after this season they really had no choice but to keep him around. I'm sure Paul knows this and was in the driver's seat during contract negotiations, obviously wanting the years. He either got the years in a new contract or walked away, which would have been difficult for the newer front office to explain to the fans and ownership. But as some other posters have stated I think Jeff Pickler is likely in the running as next manager. He is a big analytics guy and graduated magna cum laude at UT. I wouldn't be surprised that he continues to take on a much larger role in the clubhouse during the next three years.
  6. Pretty much. The Twins sike themselves out whenever they play the Yankees. Ervin Santana was not prepared for this game. Once again the starting pitching fails.
  7. Twins have to have a lead before the Yanks get to Chapman if they want to win this game.
  8. Congrats to the Twins! Impressive for a team that lost SO MANY games last year.
  9. Well they know that the Twins CAN BEAT THEM in Target Field and have come close in Yankee Stadium. They've got to be nervous about that.
  10. yes i agree. I am not a fan of Molitor, but last night he did alright.
  11. Colon has failed to reach 90 pitches in each of his last 4 starts. He's also lost 4 in a row and his ERA has been 6+ since joining the Twins and he's trending the wrong direction again and badly (was 8.19 era when he joined them). Not sure why this is even a discussion at this point. You have to go with Meija as the 4th starter. If they want to keep him on the roster, fine... back up starter, limited reliever or mop up in a blow out but that is all. Cleveland would destroy Colon.
  12. If by some miracle the Twins survive Yankee Stadium and move onto Cleveland, the Indians would DESTROY Colon. Why forfeit a game when you don't have to. Not opposed to him as bullpen help, but starting? NO WAY!
  13. I'm not surprised. The umps at Yankees stadium always give them the hometown advantage...ALWAYS!
  14. I can't stand watching the horrible free swinging Rosario. He's easily replaceable. TRADE HIM!!!!!! Trade him for pitching already! LOL
  15. Agreed. Slegers situation though is a bit ridiculous in my opinion. What does this kid have to do in the minors to get an extended look? Gee fringe major league starter at this point.
  16. I think Zack Littel earns honorable mention as well next to Thorpe. Guy has been AWESOME this year over three different affiliates at 18-1. All the folks whining about selling Garcia should really take a look at this guys stats and this could end up being a HUGE steal for Falvey and Levine.
  17. The impression i get is that this front office feels they have to try EVERY veteran regardless of how awful they are before using a youngster with upside. And Molitor might have a hand in that decision making too.
  18. So the almighty Nick Gordon, shortstop of the future for the Twins has stumbled and fallen flat on his face. Perhaps he isn't the prospect we thought he was once going to be. OMG hold your breath and pray.
  19. Okay.....Well they lost 3 of 5 to the White Sox, worst team in baseball. And dismantled a very good D-Backs team? You mean the team that lost 93 games last season, 83 in 2015 and 98 in 2014? Hasn't had a winning season since 2011. Yeahhhh.....
  20. Ugly Ugly Ugly! This team is a mirage. This was a good ole ass kicking by the White Sox. My hat off to them. They made this team look like a bunch of schmucks.
  21. Yeah and Gibson's start against the Sox was a mirage. On any other night he would have gotten rocked and had another short outing. He got lucky the other night. I still think he's DFA material.
  22. I'd like to see Gonsalves AND Aaron Slegers called up. Slegers is having a FANTASTIC season in Rochester. 13-4, 3.18 era, with 97 strikeouts, 6.7k per 9 over 21 starts. Gonsalves had an equally impressive season in Chattanooga. 8-3, 2.68 era, with 96 strikeouts, 9.9k per 9 over 15 starts. I know a lot of people doubt Slegers stuff but i think this kid can pitch.
