  1. I want Cole as much as anyone, but let’s be realistic and atleast aknowledge that the probability of us landing him is very low. Hopefully I’m wrong, but because I know that’s unlikely to be the case I think FO’s goal should be to bring back Odorizzi and bring in an established lefty starter (MadBum, Keuchel, or E-Rod). That’d leave us with a rotation of Berrios, LHP, Odorizzi, and Graterol, and while I wouldn’t expect anything more I’d love to see the FO go the extra mile and bring in someone like Porcello who had a down year and is likely to rebound. While we’d still lack a true ace, I definitely wouldn’t complain if this was our 2020 rotation. Berrios Odorizzi Keuchel Graterol Porcello
  2. Only way I’d bring back Perez is if he’s willing to move to the bullpen.
  3. Hopefully these losses send a clear message to the FO that they need to provide Rocco with better pitching next season.
  4. I wouldn’t resort to promoting Graterol and Duran just yet, although I’d definitely like to see more of Colina, Romero, and Alcala.
  5. Diaz’s job as 3B coach is to understand situational base running (baseball in general) even better than the players themselves and yet he sent a deceptively slow Adrianza with 1 out despite knowing that from the crack of the Marwin’s bat that the game was already tied and that we would’ve had runners on 2nd and 3rd. I mean, he might as well have literally taken the the bat out of Kepler’s hands and told him to sit in the dugout because that what that call pretty much did for the team. I can’t believe it, he put the entire game in the hands of Schoop!! Inexcusable. And even more so from Rocco who wouldn’t even admit that Diaz even made a mistake in the first place. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought owning up to your mistakes was the first step in fixing them, and if Rocco can’t do that, how does he expect the players, and to a much lesser extent; the fans, to truly trust Diaz’s decision making skills ever again if there’s no acknowledgement of what’s clearly a problem? Soon enough you’ll have players doing the exact opposite of what Diaz call for, or atleast show more hesitation...
  6. Honest question, if Lewis, AK, and Grayerol are truly off the table, would a package of Larnach and Balazovic (or Duran) be worth landing Vazquez??
  7. I wouldn’t give up on Lewis yet, but I would be open to giving up a package of Larnach, Duran, and Jeffers.
  8. As much as I like the Romo deal, winning trades shouldn’t be the goal of the FO when the team is a legit WS contender. Obviously you don’t want to get burned, but there’s always a possibility of that on both ends in every deal that is made, so you have to be very careful about how much you value the guys in your system compared to the potential acquisition. That being said, I do understand that there’s always a limit to how much a FO is (or should be) willing to overpay (like Lewis, AK, and especially Buxton), and I really hope Falvey has it in him to make a big move for someone like Vazquez, Yates, or Diaz at the expense of a couple of their other top prospects like Larnach, Gordon, and Thorpe because I have a strong feeling that that could be the move that puts us over the top like did for the Astros when they traded for Verlander.
  9. As much as I like Syndergaard, I’m really not thrilled about the idea of giving up both Royce and or AK in the first year of our open window. I mean, I’d be just as content with less expensive options like Wheeler or Stroman. Besides, it’s not like the rotation is an immediate need this season anyways, we have much higher priorities; like 2 quality bullpen upgrades. Seriously, I should be seeing more reports of Falvey being interested in Iglesias, Vazquez, or Leclerc, not Syndergaard in one breath and Daniel Hudson in the other. Although, if Falvey really wants to add a controllable starter to solidify our rotation for 2020 and beyond, he should seriously consider Carlos Martinez; who also could fill our current bullpen need as well.
  10. In no particular order, I really hope the FO is bold enough to make a deal for at least two of the arms on this list. Kirby Yates Felipe Vazquez Raisel Iglesias Carlos Martinez Jose Leclerc Mychal Givens Ian Kennedy Tony Watson Sam Dyson For those wondering why some names are missing it’s because I don’t trust Greene or Giles, and I think Smith is an overpriced rental.
  11. While the concept of that website may be well thought out, I really question it’s accuracy for rating players.I mean, don’t you think Javier, Jeffers, Sands, Blankenhorn, Diaz, Maciel, Davis, Rijo, Celestino, and Jax all deserve a little higher ratings, and where’s Colina and Winder? Maybe I’m crazy, but shouldn’t Gordon, Larnach, Thorpe, Jeffers, and Jax be enough?? I get that he’s the best reliever available on the market, but it’s not like he’s a frontline starter.
  12. Giving up that much for Vazquez is obviously gonna hurt, but compared to having to give up any of Lewis, AK, Graterol, Balazovoc, and Duran, I’d say it’s definitely worth it, especially if it’s gonna make us WS favorites.
  13. Ian Kennedy could be had today for a very reasonable price, yet I see no action...
  14. I get that Cleveland’s playing really well right now, but there’s no excuse for the FO’s lack of urgency. If we don’t win the division, we all know who’s to blame.
  15. I want a big move, but I also wanna save up on prospect capital for next season as well, so how about just Vazquez and Kennedy?? If we wanna add onto our rotation of Berrios and Perez, why not just wait till the offseason to bring back Odorizzi and sign either Porcello, Keuchel, or Wheeler instead of overpaying for a “good not great” starter like Stroman (still like him though) who would only be controllable for one more season after the current one. Vazquez <—> Gordon/Larnach/Jeffers/Colina/Jax Kennedy <—> Littell/Cave/$4M of $14M for 2020
  16. While I wouldn’t DFA May, there’s no doubt that this FO is playing with fire by continuing to roll with our current bullpen. Rocco has my full support, but his constant defense of our weak bullpen, even at the expense of our great hitters, is getting really annoying... It almost seems like someone is telling him what to say in regards to the team’s bullpen situation... Just remember while we’re talking about ‘dual pitcher’ trades that Ian Kennedy could easily be had today.
  17. I know keeping Cron may seem obvious at first thought, but I wouldn’t be suprised if the FO at least entertains the idea of trading him for more pitching, especially with Rooker/AK on the way.
  18. Scratch that, Lugo would only jack up the price to an unfair amount due to his controllability. While I do like him, I feel like we could easily get the same kind of performance from a much cheaper option. Instead of Lugo, why not Ian Kennedy? I mean, he is a former starter (as recently as last season), no reason he can’t be an as effective multi-inning reliever as Lugo. Also, what’s with the infatuation over dual pitcher trades??
  19. While I’d be comfortable with Wheeler alone, having Lugo as a multi-inning guy would definitely help our entire pitching staff stay fresh for the 2nd half, and hopefully the postseason. And if this happens to be the path that the FO ends up taking; great, but I still want Vazquez.
  20. Don’t get me wrong, I’m very satisfied with our lineup, but imagine how much better we could’ve been if we had traded for Santana instead taking a chance on Cron...
  21. While having a significantly better bench than the 2016 Indians definitely increases our chances at a lengthy postseason run, I believe it’s of the upmost importance that we don’t aquire just any reliever, but our own Andrew Miller, and the only guy that I think fits that profile is Felipe Vazquez. It may cost us both Larnach and Gordon, but I think that’s an appropriate price for a team that’s got serious WS aspirations.
  22. If someone doesn’t step up soon I’d definitely be looking into acquiring another starter, and while I’d prefer a controllable arm like Stroman, it shouldn’t matter if we acquire a rental instead, and it shouldn’t matter if it’s not MadBum either since I believe that there are other rentals like Roark and (especially) Wheeler that have the potential to be effective postseason starters as well. Having said all that, the bullpen still remains our biggest need, so maybe instead of pursuing a starter, we could instead pursue deals for both Vazquez and Iglesias. Sure, both deals would likely gut our system, but if we could somehow manage to retain Lewis, Kirilloff, Graterol, Balazovic, and Duran in doing so, it’d be well worth the investment.
  23. I get that Pittsburgh would probably expect atleast one of Lewis, Kirilloff, or Graterol, but I gotta believe a package of Larnach, Jeffers, and Alcala would move the needle a little bit.
  24. Cincinnati did say they’re looking to acquire a controllable bat, how about Rooker, Stewart, and Winder for Iglesias??
  25. Nice win, but the fact that Parker had to pitch 2 innings is crazy, not to mention that he almost cost us the game from the start of his appearance. Sure, he may be one of our best relievers we have at our disposal, but compared to the Yankees or the Astros, Parker is near the bottom of the totem pole. I’m tired waiting, the FO needs to make a move for an actual late inning reliever pretty damn soon.
