  1. Why not send Sano to Miami straight up for Realmuto, seems at least possible, especially from the perspective of Miami, who’d like to add someone to build their team around. And I think by adding a consistent contributor behind the dish for the price Sano would only make a more well rounded & dangerous lineup for Twins that’d be taken much more seriously in the eyes of the league.
  2. With Polanco returning soon, Gordon waiting on a call, and Escobar playing as well as he is, maybe the Twins should consider sending Sano and Garver to Miami for Realmuto and Starlin Castro.
  3. With Las Vegas’ recent track record on producing stars players like Kris Bryant and Bryce Harper, I’m suprised C Austin Wells hasn’t been taken yet, especially by the Twins at this point.
  4. There has been talk about picking Osiris Johnson in the Star Tribune, could be a good double play partner for Royce Lewis
  5. I’m hoping the Twins are looking to surround Royce Lewis with more athletes like shortstops Osiris Johnson and Xavier Edwards.
  6. Not gonna lie, but that sounds too good not to happen, and I couldn’t think of a better change of scenery for Sano than a place like Miami. Although I’m afraid the Twins organization is just too committed to Sano, like they are with Mauer and Molitor. And if Miami could throw in Derek Dietrich for 1 or 2 lower level prospects that’d be even better, cuz the dude’s a gamer.
  7. I wouldn’t see it as making a move to make a move, I’d see it as selling high on pure talent that won’t age well and may become a liability sooner than we think. Imagine a scenario where the Rays are willing to send Wilson Ramos and Chris Archer today for Sano, Kirilloff, and Thorpe. Would you pull the trigger?
  8. I’m already over this Buxton/Sano era, and what about Berrios, Kepler, and Rosario? Think it’s time to enter a new era for the Twins that also includes Romero, Gonsalves, Jay, Thorpe, Rooker, Gordon, and Lewis And I understand the Mauer fanfare, Buxton too, but what makes Sano any different than a Cris Carter or past his prime Ryan Howard? And I thought Molitor was suppose to be “10 steps ahead of everyone else.” It’s time to prepare for playoff run in 2019.
  9. With the draft coming up and the Twins playing like they are, I’d like to see our top prospects moved up through system quicker. We need Gordon, Lewis, Rooker, Kirilloff, Gonsalves, and our power arms in the pen to start playing with our core players as soon as possible. And speaking of core players, despite playing well as of late maybe it’s time to move on and sell high on Miguel Sano, because I feel his health, lack of versatility/mobility, and strikeouts are eventually going to become too much of a chore to work around. As of late, championship teams have had lots of flexibility in their lineup; Cubs, Astros, Dodgers. I’d rather have a future Alex Bregman, Manny Machado, Anthony Rendon, or Jose Ramirez than Sano’s “potential”/“pure talent”/or “high ceiling.” And with Polanco and Cano being suspended for PEDs, I won’t be surprised when Sano is found to be a PED user also. And I also won’t be suprised if there’s another assault case in his future either. The Twins need to focus on a 2019 season that won’t include Mauer, Sano, or Molitor
  10. I think it’s time to make some moves like we did last year. A message needs to be sent to this club that time is running out, especially for Molitor.
  11. Without out Sano, Santana, and Polanco for a good portion of the season, I'm starting to have doubts on MN even winning the wildcard (could be wrong tho). Because my confidence in Aybar and or Gordon starting is so low, I believe the Twins should bring back Trevor Plouffe to hold down 3rd, play Escobar at SS, and leave Adrianza as the utility. Other options would be: Jurickson Profar, Taylor Motter, Devin Marrero, Ketel Marte, Adeiny Hechavarria, and Aledmys Diaz
  12. The last two bullpen spot should go to Mejia and Romero as multi-inning guys, but chances are Romero won't break camp. However, if Sano does get suspended it would be smart to have Romero test the MLB waters as the 9th reliever instead of giving up a spot to Aybar when we got Escobar and Adrianza.
  13. Imo, this what "should" happen. Bullpen: Have Alan Buesnitz and Adalberto Mejia round out the last 2 spots (has experience). AAA depth; Curtiss, Reed, Moya, Kinley (trade Aaron Slegers and Tyler Duffey to Fish) are next in line. Bench: Go with Ehire Adrianza, Robbie Grossman, Eduardo Escobar, Mitch Garver. Next in line should be Zack Granite, Ryan Lamarre, and Erick Aybar. And if Sano gets suspended just reward a reliever to get some looks against MLB batters (likely Fernando Romero). There's no need to call on Erick Aybar when your bench has Adrianza and Escobar, we were fine without Sano at the end of 2017 anyways. Look to trade Phil Huhges, Kennys Vargas, Ehire Adrianza (sell high), Erick Aybar, Tyler Duffey, and Aaron Slegers (nothing to prove in AAA) for a catching prospect, a so-so RH bench bat, or another lefty reliever.
  14. We could trade Vargas to the Mariners, since Ryon Healy is out for 4-6 weeks. Really don't think Seattle wants to run Dan Vogelbach as their starting 1st basemen on opening day, and since all their starting pitchers are injury prone the Twins could also move a healthy Phil Hughes as well. While a B level prospect would be fine, the Twins could try to acquire depth in lefty starter Ariel Miranda, who at 29 was somewhat of a late bloomer in 2017. And because last year he fell victim to a 2nd half slump (very homer prone) and now it seems that Seattle will send him to the bullpen despite their lack of (healthy) starters (they don't trust him) (lets buy low).
  15. Veteran presence like Grossman is important to keep, but I'd be fine if we package Phil Hughes and Kennys Vargas for a C-B level prospect.
  16. No more signings, but we should look at trading for a pitcher starter, reliever, doesn't matter. And since Falvine seems reluctant to give up a high draft pick, I'd prefer we break even and put some nice prospects such as Gordon, Kirilloff, Graterol, Enlow, etc on table and then replenish the system with college players who they think will "sprint through the system." And although our bullpen seems complete I'm not comfortable with Rogers as our top lefty or Duke as Bosher's replacement, soooo why not offer Gordon, Graterol, Enlow, Stewart, and Lamonte Wade for Brad Hand, a multi-inning relief ace.
  17. Next offseason supposed to be filled with superstars, but if our core can take even the slightest of steps forward compared to 2017 we'd have no need for Harper, Machado, Madbum, etc. Instead, I think the Falvine should bring Dozier back on a long term deal (5 years), work out a discount for Mauer, all while still having room to sign high quality players such as Drew Pomeranz and Nelson Cruz. Imagine Dozier, LoMo, Sano (still holding out hope for Archer), and Nelson Cruz in the heart of our lineup and... having Pomeranz, a 30 year old to be with ace-like stuff who'll also be entering his prime years in 2019
  18. Despite losing Chargois hopefully this means more moves, like signing Lance Lynn. Also I'd also like to see more minor league invitations that would be more competitive than the likes of Sanchez, Casey Crosby, Myles Jaye, and Jordan Pacheco. Having veterans in camp is one thing, having veterans who can still ball is another. So in that case I hope the Twins can sign Jason Grilli, Sueng Hwan Oh, Oliver Perez, Trevor Cahill, and Matt Belisle. And if we're unable to land Lynn, just sign Nolasco (2nd time's a charm) and R.A Dickey (if he isn't retired). Yeah we got Addison Reed, but I 100% believe that Rodney and Duke will not be with the Twins by the end of the season (you heard here first), so preparing for the worst isn't a waste of time or money imo.
  19. Despite all the worry over the rotation, I'd still be skeptical of our bullpen. Addison Reed was the only signing I liked, and besides him I've been pretty disappointed with the signings of Duke and Rodney. I'm worried Duke will be just as effective or worse of a lefty than Buddy Boshers was, in that case why not sing young lefties (with upside) Robbie Ross and Kevin Seigrist to minor league deals (unlike Sanchez and Duke). And for more assurance it wouldn't hurt to sign Sueng-Hwang Oh to a 1 year deal, in case Rodney disappoints.
  20. If the Twins are looking towards reclamation projects rather than Cobb or Lynn, then why not look at players that actually just had a rough/injured season and not a waste of a roster spot (no offense to Anibal, but cmon). Why not sign Jeff Locke or Matt Garza to minor league contracts? Or maybe bring back a healthy Ricky Nolasco, R.A Dickey, or even Scott Feldman. We should've signed Cashner, Chatwood, Chancin when we had the chance.
  21. I still think a Chris Archer trade could still happen if we offer Sano, Gordon, and Graterol (or Gonsalves) (or Mejia). Losing Sano would hurt, but I'd say (I know) Archer holds more value since he's a pitcher. To offset the possibility of this, the Twins could bring back Carlos Gomez (still has that power/speed blend) to play LF, moving Rosario to starting DH/4th OF, and installing Eduardo Escobar at 3rd (he deserves it). Then sign a RH handed bench bat like Danny Valencia Imagine. 1. Chris Archer 2. Jose Berrios (if he progresses) 3. Ervin Santana 4. Trevor May (I believe he'll put up numbers similar to Lance Lynn) 5. Kyle Gibson
  22. At this point, after losing Darvish and Archer, the Twins just need to start handing out contracts to guys hoping they get lucky because pitchers and catchers are already reporting. And honestly, I don't think it would take a whole lot of effort on the Twin's part to sign the likes of R.A Dickey, Andrew Cashner (why are teams sleeping on Cash, seriously!?), Wade Miley, and Jaime Garcia to 1-2 year deals.
  23. I sorta follow statcast, velocity, and pitches when it comes to pitching and 5 younger guys stood out to me as relatively affordable trade targets with talent similar to Chris Archer (also including Julio Teheran). Luis Castillo (Reds), Luis Gohara (Braves), Jose Urena (Marlins), Luis Cessa, (Yankees), and Dinelson Lamet (Padres). To me personally, Lament especially stood out, something was different about him when he faced of against Erv and the Twins lineup (missed a lot of bats). For Lament, probably wouldn't have to give up Kepler, since the San Diego Padres badly need to replenish their system.
  24. I really like Kepler's potential as an all around player, so I instead of possibly sacrificing multiple future contributors the Twins maybe should look into signing Julio Teheran of the Braves and free agent Andrew Cashner. Also, I'm pretty sure there are plenty of other teams out there willing to trade starting pitchers as controllable as Archer, just not as talented/expensive. But who else?
