  1. I meant to say Twins need more than 1 prospect to make it worth moving Dozier.
  2. I just can't see how it would make sense to trade Dozier who has put up 4 solid seasons in a row for only 1 prospect who dominated in the minors. How many "can't miss" pitching prospects could not make the next step and be that same pitcher in the majors?
  3. Profar doesn't make sense for any team with his history injuries. He has missed so much time with shoulder surgery and I believe he may see some action at 1st base. Has to be a red flag and buyer beware.
  4. Got to give LA credit for linking even more possible replacements trying to squeeze the Twins on a Dozier deal. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/01/rosenthals-dodgers-second-baseman-dozier-twins-profar-rangers-cesar-hernandez-phillies-wilmer-difo-nationals.html Only player that would make sense would be Cesar Hernandez. But he is cheap and Philly could command a ransom close to what a Dozier deal would take. Only knock is that he doesn't have a track record to wonder if he is just a flash in the pan.
  5. Is that counting spring training games?
  6. Well if it's true the Dodgers re opened talks it "should" be in our favor unless they are being baited about a possible Kinsler/Forsythe deal. If that is the case wish them luck and call their bluff and wait for the second call to get a real offer.
  7. I think if Dozier played on a team with better supporting players his average would go up with less pressure having to try to carry a team and would put up numbers like Kinsler.
  8. I would hate to see Byung-Ho Park traded. Not sure how good a fit he would be for a NL team. A healthy year and 550 ab's would be a great year. We just saw a glimpse of his power, if he can stay healthy and get his ab's we could see another 30+ hr hitter.
  9. I predicted and hope to be right with Wednesday a deal in place to send Dozier to LA.
  10. We're talking about a franchise that already has Julio Urias and Clayton Kershaw. So that would make 2 solid starters if Urias lives up to the hype and if they can find a creative way to keep his innings down. Beyond them the Dodgers rotation is filled with either a bunch of injury risks or slightly washed up starters that you would expect to be playing for the Twins and not the Dodgers. This would be more like mid 2017 staff. 1. Kershaw 2. Maeda 3. Hill 4. Urias 5. Stewart, JDL, Stripling So I guess LA could deal JDL & Alvarez and still be in good shape.
  11. There would only be half truth in whatever they released. It would be foolish to say this is exactly what the Twins thought was an inferior offer. It is easy for the Twins to come out and say they want all the top trade chips the Dodgers have to offer for Dozier. It also feels like there must be a red flag about JDL if LA is so willing to deal him away. If he is ranked by some as one of the top pitching prospects in the game why would they be so willing to deal him away?
  12. If the Twins actually signed Trumbo to a 3 year deal I would guarantee his contract would have an opt out after 1 season and that would hurt his trade value when they try to flip him for prospects.
  13. But why would Detroit want to give up one of their best hitters with no internal replacement? As well as the fact they will be giving Cleveland a run for division.
  14. I really don't think Detroit would want to move Kinsler unless they got an insanely huge offer for him. They have a solid team and will push Cleveland hard for the AL Central this upcoming season. As well as the fact they don't have a suitable in house replacement for him in their system. Side note San Diego just gave former Twin Yangervis Solarte a 2 year deal today. So that leaves the Dodgers with 2 players to choose from if they decide to trade for a 2b. Brian Dozier or Logan Forsythe. Dozier has put up solid power numbers for a 2b for 4 years now and Logan Forsythe just the last 2 seasons. The Dodgers want to play the angle Dozier is from a small market and may not be able to handle a large market. What would happen to a player from Tampa who plays in front of a 15K fans on a good day at home. What a joke. Andrew Friedman will try to be all cool and try to make the Twins sweat waiting for his call but I feel he will ultimately cave and try to start it back up on Wednesday. He has 2 weeks until they have Dodger FanFest and would like to have it resolved. By the way, the Dodgers FanFest is free for all fans and don't charge unlike our Twins. So another reason a deal gets done, the Dodgers like to please their fans.
  15. I don't understand how the talks lasted so long. Were they talking back and forth for hours each day? If that was the case you would think after 2 weeks one team would say we are not getting any where and take a step back. It may have been a smarter move for the Twins to have imposed this deadline the week before Christmas to put the pressure on LA. The one part of the game of chicken now that I like is that the Twins claim they are done chasing a deal but will pick up the phone if LA wants to reopen talks. I feel they will wait until next week and try to swing a deal with a better prospect besides JDL. As for the Rays making moves the other day, I really don't think just because Andrew Friedman came from Tampa makes it easier to work out a deal. If anything, the current GM or owner may have a little bad blood over him leaving and not want to do a deal that would not be in Tampa's favor.
  16. Kendrys Morales Part 2. He will perform after he leaves. Don't waste the time or money for him.
  17. No harm in signing either pitcher. You never know when you will have injuries and need a replacement.
  18. Bautista would make a good mentor for Sano? If he was not a huge pain in the butt Baltimore or Texas would be interested in him. It would only make sense if the deal was under $10M. There are too many hitters on the market that don't have draft pick compensation tied to them.
  19. I am finally happy they made the deal official. Not so sure Micah Johnson is though since he was DFA to make room for Jensen. Just weird that LA has a gaping hole at 2b and DFA one of the candidates today. Not that he was going to be their starter of course. As for Jose Miguel Fernandez who the Dodgers signed the other day, only $200K for a project that would need quite a bit of time in the minors to see if he can make a comeback since not playing professionally since 2014 in Cuba. So cut the BS and get the Dozier deal done.
  20. Jason Castro will improve the rotation being able to actually frame a pitch.
  21. The sad part is the Twins probably had a very nice offer from LA during the winter meetings. The Twins would not be to blame when they hoped more teams would get involved. When the winter meetings ended the Dodgers figured out they were the only serious bidder they turned to hard ball and have made the Twins sweat for a long time waiting for them to cave in. That would explain the JDL for Dozier offer that has been put out.
  22. Trusted sources? What is that supposed to mean. All people who are not from either front office are throwing darts unless they have a person on the inside leaking them information. Most of the time that is fed information trying to troll the other team.
  23. Same could be said for Julio Urias who everyone feels is an ace in the near future.
  24. Is everyone actually serious that they think signing a 28 yr old 2nd baseman to a minor league contract that has not played professionally since 2014 is the Dodgers answer to 2017? They are clearly going to try to use it as leverage towards any deal. The Twins FO is not that dumb to not see that a mile away. If JDL & Alvarez are truly on the table, take that deal with a 20th overall or so prospect and end this madness.
